Tru-Tension | Tyre Monkey | Tyre Lever | Bicycle Tools & Accessories

I’d recently had to swap out my bike tyres a few times and realised I’d lost my cheap generic tyre levers. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy, and the price of this nearly put me off, but I’m so glad I went ahead and bought the Tru-Tension Tyre Monkey. It’s excellent! Much quicker and easier than any tyre levers I’ve used before. One end removes the tyre safely, the other helps you re-insert it, which is a huge help when dealing with new tyres that arrive folded and want to twist in every direction. It has a built in Presta valve spanner too, which I have no use for, so can't comment. I watched Tru-Tension’s short how-to video on YouTube to get the technique right, and despite being very out of practice (it’s been about five years since my last puncture), I removed and refitted the tyre in around two minutes; excluding taking the wheel off the bike. I also appreciate that it’s made from strong plastic rather than metal, so there’s no risk of damaging the wheel, tyre, or tube. It’s compact but feels chunky and sturdy in the hand. If I lost this tool, I’d replace it without hesitation. It’s now an essential part of my daily-commute kit.

OMG. All the times I have struggled with tyre levers to get my bike tyre off to repair a puncture when there is this tool can do it within seconds. I gravel ride quite a lot and, touch wood, have only suffered two punctures this year. One of which I repaired at home, one whilst I was out on the road. It's no messing about. From taking the tyre off, replacing the inner tube, replacing the tyre, 5 minutes tops. I never go out without it now. Excellent gadget. Dearer than the levers but great value for money if you done want to be sat about too long. Very light, especially hardened composite plastic and doesn't take up much room in the tool bag.

Works ok not as easy as some of the videos show when changing a mtb tyre but sturdy build I thick it could do to be a bit longer

Wow! I highly recommend the amazing Tyre Monkey Tru-Tension tool. It is the most useful item I’ve purchased in a very long time & will save costly bike shop puncture repairs. Thanks to the brilliant accompanying instruction video it was so easy to use that a child could do the tyre repair thanks to this handy tool. Absolutely fantastic 👍

I didn't believe the 1-star reviews but they were right. Perhaps this could be a good tool for large soft mountain bike tyres, however if you have a hybrid or road bike with tight narrow tyres like mine (700x28 Continental Contact Plus), this tool is absolutely unusable. No amount of fiddling will allow to squeeze the tool between the tyre and the rim. Not at all fit for purpose - I ended up using standard metal tyre levers instead.

Bloody Superb. I've not had to deal with a bicycle puncture since the 1970s. Removing the tube is simple; that dreaded last bit where you try multiple ways in the hope of the tyre fitting into place is what I was dreading. I bought this, it turned up just as I was putting in a new tube - it was effortless. Such a humble-looking gadget made it effortless. It really is simple and simply superb.

Good enough does the job but a bit expensive

The best tool by far. The negative reviews don't seem to know how to get this tool to work properly. I ordered this because I broke my old lever trying to pry a TLR from my Mavic Cosmic 42 UST rims. If you google it, these are notorious for not accepting many non UST tyres. I finally figured out how to remove the tyre, but it took considerable effort and time which I don't think is possible road-side, in the rain... With this Tyre Monkey it is completely suitable for roadside repairs as it is so much easier. Things you have to get right with the TLR tires, you absolutely must ensure the bead is unseated in at all points on both sides otherwise you won't be able to force a large enough gap to get the lever under. Secondly, the application of a little undiluted washing up liquid to the contact edges of the tool will ensure very little effort is needed to run the tool around the rim, except for a little bit of effort to get it started. Same for re-installing. I take a tiny little tub of washing up liquid with me on my rides, just in case.

億劫だった新品タイヤをはめる作業が劇的に楽になった。 YouTubeの動画を見て真似ても手の皮が剥けながら1時間以上かけて1本終わる程度だったのがこれを使うと2本で30分程度で済むのでこれの存在をもっと早く知りたかった。

Cet instrument est top ,mon pneu arrière creve souvent donc je dois réparer souvent , avec cet outil c'est vraiment un jeu d'enfant , c'est presque trop facile. Je recommande vivement a toutes les personnes qui ont un vélo.

I didn’t have much luck with using the tool to remove my tire (700x40 tubeless) from the rim. I seriously don’t blame the tool though, more so user error. Completely different story putting the tire back on the rim. It was no joke the easiest installation I have ever done on any bike tire. 100% am recommended this product to all my buddies.
