There are some Imaginext figures that are 5 inches, but these are about the size of the 2 1/2 to 3 inch ones.

Does Captain America’s shield come off his arm?

No, it doesn't. My grandchildren love these Super Heroes! They stand great on blocks, tables, in trucks etc. I would highly recommend them.
