They are over-ear. Comfortable fit and about three and a half inches from top to bottom of the ear cup. You'll be able to pair with an Android phone as long as it Bluetooth enabled.

are these ok for use on aircraft

I used them on a plane recently. I left my phone in seat pocket, went to the toilet 12 rows in front singing away. Never lost the connection at all. Great sound!! Buy them!!

Has anyone noticed audio "lag" (syncing either too fast or slow) when using these headphones to watch films on Netflix or Lovefilm/Amazon Prime?

I cannot say that I have encountered any of these issues, I tried both gaming and watching a movie or two with these on, along with music, off course. I would have been switching from my surround sound, to my headphones, using them both wirelessly and with both of the leads provided (USB and 3.5mm jack), as I did this there was no lag at all. Only time I came across lag personally, was if I moved too far away from the device that was playing the audio.

Anyone tried using this on the PS3?

They should connect to a PS3 via the controller and the 3.5 cable I have a few pairs of headphones and they all function via my PS4 controller and cable -ps3 should be no different.
