I bought this to carry in my bag or on my person when I'm not sitting before the computer working. I had a larger one but it was not as portable as I required. I tested one against the other and found the Alonefire SV62 superior. It made reading the invisible writing far easier, the writing brighter. I did, however, find it to be awkward to turn on and off. This may simply be due to the arthritis in my thumb. The bigger one is far better at that in my case. But since it is not something I use frequently, I can overlook the issue. I will perhaps buy another kind if I feel it will operate more smoothly. This light is well-made and durable. It is nice looking and easily fits into a shirt or pant pocket, a bag of any sort. And the clip is a nice added feature. It has a very solid feel to it. This is a good value if you need a UV light to have available all the time.

Incredible little UV flashlight. It can run on alkaline cells or NiMH cells (albeit with a reduced runtime). Surprisingly bright considering the size, but the special 365nm filter in front of the LED ensures that it really is just 365nm light (unlike the cheaper UV flashlights). Good quality build, it survived in my pocket for over half a year with no issues. I recommend this one to my friends when they need a UV light. Unfortunately I lost it recently while playing laser tag, so I've ordered two more so that now I have a backup unit.

This is not a good rock hounding light. It is 365nm but simply not bright enough to be effective when being held at adult or kids height.

This needs to be used in a darker environment for sure. I purchased this for work to do audits with. We have a very well lit environment and we use high quality black lights. I purchased this to keep on my person since I work in quality control. I tried to use it in the same area we use the other black lights. I could not see this one at all. Yes, I was disappointed and people laughed including me. It isn't intended for what I purchased it for. If you are rock hounding, I would also recommend something stronger. This will be good for me to check for AC compressor leaks in my garage with all the lights off. That is now what I have reserved this for. Do I recommend, that is a strong maybe. It depends on what you need and what your expecting to get out of this little light.

This is a nice compact UV pen - only takes one AAA battery. I wanted something on the small size. I used this to show UV printing and reactive rocks and minerals Seems to be decent quality for the money so I feel it was worth the price

The ALONEFIRE SV62 Mini 3W UV Flashlight is a handy size and takes a normal AAA battery for easy replacement. The beam reaches across an office or residential room easily. This form factor is easy to carry in a shirt or pants pocket, and the button on the tail cap gives a positive on and off so it doesn't shine in your pocket accidentally. I also like the purple lens housing so I can spot the UV light easily among my other flashlights.
