Philips Imageo Rechargeable LED Candle Lights - White, Set of 3

I now have two sets of these fantastic little rechargeable LED candle lights - blue and red. They look just like real candles burning in frosted glass holders. Recharging is really easy on the silver charger base shown in the picture, and the charger timer turns off automatically when charging is finished. A single charge lasts for ages - I've used the lamps in the evenings for well over a week before recharging. Turning them on and off couldn't be simpler - you simply invert the lamp. We first saw them in a restaurant in Leeds and were impressed. Everyone who sees them in our house has been equally impressed, and I know of at least two of our visitors who have bought a set having seen ours! They are brilliant for mood lighting, as a window decoration, for creating a relaxing ambiance (the red are warm, the blue cool) and are amazing as the centrepiece for the dinner table. If you like candles without the mess, smell or potential fire hazard, these are for you. At around £25 for the set of three they are a bargain - I've seen some retailers selling them at £60-plus. Philips also make a set of amber (natural) colour lamps, and several different sizes of rechargeable candle lamps including tealights. You can buy the lamps separately without the charger base if you already have one. Two minor caveats: 1. Like all rechargeable battery products, battery performance will decline over time, especially if the instructions on charging aren't followed. Using Philips' figures, I reckon my sets will have a fully functional life of 20 years! 2. The holders are glass, so require care in placement and handling. They are very stable, but could be chipped or smashed if knocked from a shelf on to the floor (watch the cat - they are fascinated!) These little lamps are one of the best products we've bought for years!

I was a little sceptical at first and thought maybe it's just another gimmick - though other reviews did help sway my decision - helped by, of course, the FREE Super Saver Delivery (3 - 5 business days)! I purchased this as a present for my mom - she loves candles but is always worried about the dangers of them and so never lights them. I charged these for 12 hours and used them as night lights in the bathroom. (Do not buy them if you are wanting to read by their light - they are just not powerful enough.) When you place the candles on the charger (make sure the candle light is out) just press the button in the middle of the charger base - it will light up red whilst they are charging. You don't need to worry about overcharging as the charger turns off automatically and the red light goes out. So if you put the candles on the charger early enough in the day they should be fully charged for night time use. The candles give off a lovely soft, warm glow and look just like a tea light flickering in the opaque jar. They lasted for two full nights (from around 10pm until about 7am) and would run out at some point in the very early hours of the third morning. There are no wires or switches on the jar as re charging works by induction from the charger base. To switch each candle on, or off, just give the jar a tilt to the left or right.. genius...I know my mom will just love them!! I like them so much I even bought some for myself. I also bought a set of red so as to compliment my bathroom décor. I don't know why but I thought the jar would be red however, the jar is the same opaque white and the light is red - a candle burning a red (or even blue) flame somehow does not give the same effect. I suppose it is fine if you are just wanting coloured mood lighting but if the glass was red or blue etc. the effect would have looked more authentic. To be honest for the price they are currently you won't be disappointed if you stick to buying the white set you will be more than pleased - I know I am! The red ones are going back tomorrow and in their place I have purchased another set of white ones! :-)

This is such a great idea that it's a wonder nobody though of it before, but if anyone was going to do it, it was always going to be Philips who seem to have been bitten by the lighting innovation bug in recent years. These are a set of three tealight-style LED lights stuck in frosted glass holders, with a separate plastic base unit and mains adaptor used for recharging them. You simply place the glasses on the base unit for 10 hours and the magic that is electrical induction does the rest, giving you what Philips say is up to 20 hours of light from a full charge. I can't corroborate this claim as I haven't used the lights continually for anywhere near that amount of time, but I would guess that it probably isn't far off the mark. The lights themselves have been made in the style of tealights so aren't particularly bright, but they do give off a nice, soft, orange glow and flicker gently in a way that resembles a real candle. The description on the Amazon page suggests that they come in various colours, although the ones I got all glowed orange so I guess it must just be that Philips also sell them in other colours. The lights themselves are completely cool to the touch and are really easy to use - a tilt-switch in the base of each one turns it on when you tip it in your hand. Philips say that they are waterproof (although I haven't actually got them wet so can't guarantee this) so can be used either in or outdoors. And, unlike real candles, you won't have to worry about them blowing out in a breeze or burning a hole in the tablecloth. But bear in mind that it might be worth buying a couple of packs to compensate for the lack of brightness. If I had to nitpick, I would say that the lights to me feel a bit fragile; the glass isn't particularly thick and seems like it would shatter if dropped from any sort of height while the electronic block in the bottom, housing the LED and switch, sounds a bit flimsy. I've given the product four stars instead of five not only because of this but because I would have liked them to be a bit brighter; however this really is just me being finicky and it certainly shouldn't put you off buying them. One other thing - there is a warning on the box that says that damage may occur to the lights if you leave them unused for 3 months. In reality, these little babies are so handy that I don't think a lack of use would ever be a problem. And at this absurd price you really shouldn't think twice.

These candle-lamps are wonderful! I've seen many attempts to make electric lights look like candles, but Philips has designed something that looks very convincing, is inexpensive to buy, and is safe and easy to use. Each lamp is housed inside a tall frosted glass (not plastic), just like a real candle might be, and with a white base containing a permanent battery and electronics. The design is simple enough to work anywhere, whether your home or restaurant has modern or traditional decor. They are waterproof, so they work inside and outside, and of course in wet-rooms and bathrooms. This means that you can have a candlelit shower if you want to! There are no switches to bother about. To switch them on or off, just tip them on their side for a moment. The set comprises three lamps and a charging unit. Before you use the lamps for the first time, you must charge them up for 12 hours, using the charging base. The lamps just stand on the charging base - you don't need to plug them in. Once charged, the charger switches itself off. When you need the lamps, just tip them to switch them on and then position them anywhere you like. I have found them to be a talking point at house parties - guests rarely spot that they are not real candles. While they still can't quite beat the romance of wax candles, they are much more convenient than wax candles, they make no mess, they last for hours and hours on a single charge, and they are safe to position in places that would normally be dangerous, such as near curtains, on carpet, or among party decorations. Philips says nothing about their economy compared to buying candles, but so far the purchase price and electricity costs (for charging them up) seem to be FAR cheaper than buying candles. It is a brilliant piece of product design. It works like a charm, and looks really good, too!

Instant ambiance, slightly more quickly than by lighting tealights. These frosted glass "tumblers" have a contactless charging mechanism built into a fake tealight at the bottom of the glass, you put them onto the charging unit (all three charge at the same time) and press the red button/light in the centre of the charger, and off they go. Contactless charging takes a fair while, so if you're setting up the place for a party or a quiet night with friends it helps to give these lights a boost during the afternoon to get them up to full charge. When the time comes for them to light up, you can just take them off the charger, upend them briefly to switch them on, and place them for best effect. Upending them a second time switches them back off when the evening is done. Their effect of a gently flickering light is very convincing especially as the electronic light that creates the effect is hidden away down at the bottom of the glass, and its only knowing that they are artificial that makes a difference. When a guest said how nice the lights were, she was taken aback when I upended one and switched it off! I said "I hope that doesn't spoil them", and if anything I think she was even more keen on them. She'd honestly expected me to tip a burning candle out onto our floor, for some odd reason known only to me! They're really nice for atmosphere, very safe (apart from if they are broken, of course), and not something you have to pay anything more than passing attention to over an evening; unlike tealights which eventually expire these will last an evening and then some. I'd personally not leave them outdoors, but they are just as nice out there provided you remember to get them into the house when the evening is done. I seem to recall that these were (or are) available in "flame" colours such as blue and red. I didn't much care for breaking the illusion of a natural candle so I stuck with the creamy white flicker of these lights. In fact I got more of them a little while later, I liked them that much..

When you have kids running around, the last thing you want are naked flames. My wife is a big fan of candles, and in winter candles come out as soon as it's dark. I never light candles when kids are around for obvious reasons and even putting them on shelves etc. doesn't make it safe, as kids tend to throw things around which could still cause an accident. So we bought some LED tea lights, which were great, and after seeing these on offer, we opted to get some to replace the tea lights. The look of these is really nice and slick and they look good as just ornaments on your shelves / units. The way you switch them on (tip them upside down) is also smart. Finally, the look of them when they are on in the dark is inoffensive. However, the cons for me is they flicker to much to mimic real candlelight. And they only last a couple of nights, especially if used over winter when they nights are long. After that, you need to make sure you charge them. The docking station is also inoffensive, but you wouldn't keep the candles in it all the time (and they only charge when you press a button, it's not a continual charge), which increases the risk of you dropping one. They haven't broke for me, but they feel pretty fragile, so you would need to be careful moving these from a shelf (for example) to the charger and back every couple of days. The batteries are also inconsistent. This is probably different from box to box, but one will go off 3-4 hours before the next, even though they have all been on for the same amount of time. The LED tea lights I have bought had a lower but more natural light and flicker to them. They aren't rechargeable like these, but they have lasted for months and it code me £3 for a pack of 6. I think these are good if you find it on a deal, but I think they have a long way to go, especially around battery life.

I rarely take the time to write reviews on products but love these so much I thought I'd make a special effort, besides, I'm thinking about buying another 2 sets of these as a present. I bought one set and then another for myself just recently and have used the lights every night since to create a cosy relaxing environment whilst crashed out on the sofa, light my dark hall to save leaving on the main lights and create a homely effect in my bedroom. I've also left the light on all night and find it still burning away the next day. I'll no doubt be using them for a relaxing bath ambience too. The lights themselves are much smaller than they appear on the photographs/marketing blurb; they are just perfect. They also flicker, the frosted glass adds to the effect, they turn on and off with ease and generally appear to be of high quality. Even the chargers are minimalistic and attractive in themselves and I've stacked one set on top of the other for optimum space saving charging, with success. These little lights have got many a comment and I rather geekily admire the simplicity and genius of them! Also great around pets and in areas that would normally be slightly risky for a real flame. Buy these (but save 2 for me!!).

My wife and I recently welcomed our first child into the world, and in the past 4 days since his birth, these LED candles have transformed our apartment. I simply do not have words for how amazing these things are, and I would highly, highly recommend them to anyone considering to get them. Last week, when our son was born, he was delivered at home. Having these LED candles on hand was simply priceless. We kept the apartment quite dark and relaxed, and these candles were our main source of light. The natural flicker they have provided a natural glow to our surroundings, enhancing the calm atmosphere. Knowing that there was no risk of fire, or burning, or danger of smoke was a key factor in this. Combined with their portability, this meant we could take the candles from room to room, whenever my wife wanted to change positions throughout labor, and light the dining table area, or living room sofa, or bedroom as we wanted, adding extra candles for more light, or spacing them out for a more diffuse atmosphere. She now uses them when breastfeeding our baby, as they create a very natural ambiance, and are easy on his eyes. The fact that there is no switch to press, and that they last for so long on a charge is incredibly useful, as she can operate them when holding the baby, and rotate them on the charger. I need to find the team who made this product at Philips and give them all a hug.

Petite déception à l'ouverture du carton, le câble d'alimentation est aux normes des Royaumes-Unis donc sa fiche est non compatible avec les prises françaises! Aujourd'hui presque n'importe quel objet de ce type est vendu avec les différents câbles pour les différentes normes électriques de chaque pays donc surprise quand même! Dommage!!!

Ganz schlecht!! Ladegerät passte nicht für Deutschland.!, Hatten das Teil schon einmal gekauft, wie hier, im Original und alles war perfekt Da das Ladegerät von diesem Teil noch da war, nur die Kerzen nicht mehr brannten, konnten wir austauschen. Fanden wir sehr ärgerlich und waren somit gar nicht zufrieden!!!!

Le candele hanno l'effetto che volevo e la qualità è veramente buona. Spedizione + + + + imballaggio tutto ok!!!
