You can't go wrong with Kitchenaid. I bought this as a gift for the mother of a friend of mine to replace her Black and Decker. She absolutely loves it. It starts very gently and smoothly accelerates as you take it through the higher settings. The beater ejection makes it easy to undo the attachments without making a huge mess if you're mixing something slimy. She uses it all the time, and it's very quiet and durable. It's also about the size as most other hand mixers, so it's easy to store it. And she loves the color.

I love this Kitchenaid mixer. The 5 speeds are great for all levels of mixing, but my favorite is the lowest speed which is very gentle and prevents spattering of ingredients which was a big problem with my old hand mixer. I also appreciate that it’s very quiet. The beaters pop out easily too. I highly recommend this Kitchenaid model especially for those of us who have shoulder problems or some weakness in the hands because it’s lightweight & very easy to use.

Our old loud mixer that was well over 40 years old finally died. Thank goodness. We bought this and it works perfectly for mixing and it is nice and quiet. Good price. works well. The beaters aren't quite as easy to put on but they come off easily. the beaters are easier to clean than the old ones.

I normally used a stand mixer in the past but this demanded a lot of counter space as well as moving a heavy piece of equipment to do my mixing. In the interest of space and ease of cleaning I decided to purchase a hand mixer. I've now used this hand mixer to make a large variety of baked goods, from muffins, to cakes, some frosting and even bread. The mixer has a great number of speeds which is perfect for not flinging ingredients all over your counters. Additionally the interface to change the speeds is easy to use and very intuitive which is wonderful for times where you may want to start the mixing slow but then speed it up after the ingredients have begun to be incorporated with one and other. The mixer also came with a lot of attachments out of the box, the beaters are great for batters and frostings. However I was pleasantly surprised to see a pair of dough hooks and a whisk. I haven't used the whisk yet but the dough hooks! let me tell you what, I never expected a hand mixer to be able to handle dough as well as this thing does. Such a small tool was able to handle enough dough for me to make two pizzas without even having to break out a stand mixer or manually knead at all. Lastly the hand mixer also came with some nice add-ons like a bag that's able to hold all the attachments which will certainly help with not misplacing them.. or at least keeping them together so you're not digging through drawers for one of the two beaters. There is also a great rubber strap on the cord for the hand mixer which helps hold the cord in a shortened bundled state rather than completely uncoiled. I would highly recommend this product based on my experience for it's easy of cleaning, the power it's able to produce, how easy it is to operate, and the versatility with the attachment's that came with it.

I ordered this mixer because I make large batches of Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. After I add the oatmeal, nuts and chocolate chips the dough weighs 7 1/2 pounds. I am 91 years old and stirring all of that together was getting to be just too much and the family still wanted me to make the cookies. This mixer can handle it!! I mix the flour, sugar, margarine, eggs, and flour with the regular blades and then switch to the twisty blades when I add the oatmeal etc. The power of this mixer is amazing and it is quiet and the blades can be changed easily. A wonderful mixer that will keep me making cookie for a long time!!

Useless can't use this product in the UK

I have had this mixer for just over a month now. I put it to the test the day it was delivered. I have used it a great deal since then and I am very satisfied with the results. From standard mixing, mixing thick dough, to folding in ingredients, to beating egg whites and whipping cream. I am an avid and experienced baker and I find that this mixer has done a very elegant job of all of the tasks I have put it through. I LOVE how quiet it is even more than I love that the cord is always out of the way. I had read other reviews about the speed of the mixer so I have been paying close attention to that. Some complained the lowest speed was too fast and sprayed everywhere. I didn't find that to be an issue at all - low speed is nice and slow - great for folding, etc. (Perhaps the bowl they used for mixing was too shallow). Other reviews said that there was no difference in the speeds saying that high speed was no different than low. I think because the mixer is so quiet that it quite possibly creates the perception that the speed hasn't changed. Others didn't like that it only came with one set of beaters. It is worth noting that attachments from other mixers work with this one. So if you have other beaters from an older mixer, they can be used. Just a caveat, that using the other attachments could void the warranty - but all mixer attachments are based on an industry standard. Just saying - - -
