Dead Man's Folly Audio CD – CD, 10 Sept. 2007

This 2007 radio production starring John Moffatt as Hercule Poirot and Julia McKenzie as Ariadne Oliver is a joy. With a running time of a little less than 2 hours the dramatization brings to life some excellent characters. Listen out for the voice of Michael Cochrane and imagine which character in The Archers he has played. This story builds very nicely and does have quite a surprise ending (well I thought so anyway).The clue could just be in the title or is it that simple? John Moffatt is well into his stride and the accent and the asides to his audience just perfect. Julia McKenzie who of course plays Miss Marple on television also has a voice you know immediately and she makes for a lively Mrs Oliver. Dramatized by Michael Bakewell the series is directed by Enyd Williams and was originally a 4 part serial on BBC Radio 4. I do hope AudioGo will continue with their release schedule and note there is a box set due out later this year. Price wise very good value.

J'écoute cette histoire et même si je ne comprends pas tout (mon anglais s'améliore pourtant mais bon il va me falloir encore des années pour devenir bilingue! Surtout que je pars avec le handicap d'être française!!!). Mais d'écouter cette histoire me plonge dans l'univers d'Agatha Christie et rien que pour ça c'est le top du top!!!
