very durable and reliable
very cool. others here describe problems ive yet to experience. its compatible with every app I've used (Multitrack DAW, Nano Studio, Beatmaker2, Moog Filtron, Orange Amp. Echo Pad, Guitar Amp, Jam Up Pro, etc. +more). its great to be able to plug my guitar in to a MOBILE effects unit, just to play or to record 'on the go' or for musical project work. I've even routed the headphone output to an amplifier and had great tone/effects...any review that blames/has issue with using this cable has mistaken their problem. this cable is as straight forward and compatible as it gets. simple, inexpensive and efficient+.

Great for garage band
Plug my guitar straight in to the headphone socket of my iPhone, plug my speakers in to the cables female jack socket and load up garage band or any guitar effects pedal app that is compatible, like Amplitube, and get some great results. Very pleased.I would recommend this product to musicians along side garageband for multi layered recording. Keyboard also plugs in and works well on my Iphone 4 (had clicking noises on the 3GS when plugging my keyboard or active bass, I think the socket can't handle powered input but this seems to be solved in iPhone 4).

Griffin Guitar Cable for IPAD
Bought this cable as cheap alternative to other guitar cables for IPAD. It worked well allowing me to play some amazing sounds on garageband. It also allows you to listen via headphones or to plug into a stereo via a mini jack cable.Sometimes there is crackling/spitting which I think is down to the fact that sound is going in/out of same headpone jack. But it is not bad for the price and fairly rare occurence. But dont expect mega quality.I would buy this again

Simple and effective
I tried different tricks to be able to play along with mp3 music. The iPod mini attached to my bass guitar and a Vox mini amp, a bluetooth set-up, but this cable is the simplest solution. Very clear sound. Probably the main disadvantage of using the headphone input instead of the digital input of the iPhone is the raised noise level, but this is kept under control well by the free iShed app. Very nice.

Fine for recording clean guitar - DONT buy if you use lots of distortion!
I bought this as a way to play my guitar through GarageBand and also to record, it works fine on clean settings and blues ones but the second you add any gain to it whatsoever it gives crippling feedback and won't make anything audible. Look else where if you play rock, punk or metal music. For clean guitar players this is a cheap option.

Fantastic for musicians
I absolutely love this cable. Playing my electric guitar is something I had stopped doing as I would have to get the old amp out the cupboard and set it all up. With this I can just hook it up to my iPad and use it with Garageband, I can get an absolute library of different effects and I don't annoy my fiancé as everything comes through my headphones. Brilliant!

Not great
I had read that this product could be used for capturing music not just from guitars, but also from keyboards that support a line-level output into an iPad2.However, the sound quality when doing so it pretty terrible - very scratchy sounding indeed, despite my Roland XP50 outputting a very clean signal (verified with other equipment).I'm actually wondering if the item might be faulty, as the sound quality is so poor, it doesn't seem to be fit for purpose for any musical task at all.

Not Too Shabby.
For the money this lead seems good value. Easy to set up and use, just used it with GarageBand and had to fiddle with settings as you would, the sustain could last longer but maybe more twiddling will solve this.I defo recommend if its just for getting ideas down on the move, or indoors without bothering neighbours when inspiration strikes!
