Read Only Switch. Data protection for untrusted systems and IT work.
Write Protect switch. The switch works. I tested the Read Only (Write Protect) function of this flash drive. It does indeed work. On my linux laptop it would not allow changing the contents or reformatting unless unlocked. I couldn't override it in command line, or change its type or reformat with fdisk commands. It shows up as mounted in Read only format. But Be Warned DO NOT TRY to change the switch position while pluged into the USB port. In linux, at least, it will not work. But this is not a bad thing necessicarily. To change the switch FROM: Read Only TO: Read and Write. You have to unmount the drive and unplug it. Then plug it back in with the switch in R/W. It will work fine. Probably the same for Windows but I dont know. I can't test speed because my laptop is USB 2.0 but it does seem to max out USB 2.0. If I get a chance to test on other machine I will update the review. This type of function is only available on a hand full of flash drives. Other cost far more. "kangaruu" Or are unreliable. "I wont mention" I hope the speeds on a USB 3.0 computer will be just as shown. Thanks EZITSOL for not neglecting a forgotton segment of IT. David.

Very disappointing
Slow, slow, slow. Read/write speed was so variable that the difference between the fastest and slowest sectors varied by more than a thousand times. (I have NO faith in the reliability of a drive with individual sectors that take over a second to write.) And, as a minor detail, the protective metal case the drive came in was dented.

Interactive USB flash drive with simple user interface.
Picture this: You’re in a dimly lit room, surrounded by computer screens, and you’ve got a mission. Your mission? Secure data transfer without breaking a sweat. Enter the EZITSOL USB drive, complete with its very own physical write-protect switch. It’s like the drive is whispering, “Bond, James Bond… but for files.” SuperSpeed, they say. Well, this little gadget zips through data like it’s outrunning an avalanche. Read speed? A whopping 150MB/S—faster than a caffeinated squirrel on roller skates. Write speed? A cool 80MB/S—it doesn’t break a sweat, unlike your stressed-out laptop fan during finals week. But wait, there’s more! The physical switch is the real star here. Set it to “Read-Only,” and suddenly your files are untouchable—like they’re wrapped in an invisible force field. Viruses? Malware? Accidental deletions? Nah, they bounce off like rubber bullets on Superman’s chest. And let’s talk endurance. This flash drive isn’t just a sprinter; it’s a marathon runner. Seriously, it’s the Usain Bolt of data storage. Plug and play? Absolutely! Pop it into any USB port, and voila! Data transfer magic happens. It’s compatible with Windows, Mac, and even that mysterious cousin - Linux. The default format is exFAT (for those 4GB+ files), but hey, you can always reformat to FAT32 if you’re feeling nostalgic. And the design? Sleek as a secret agent’s tuxedo. The aluminum alloy shell screams durability, while the mini size slips into your pocket like a stealthy ninja. So there you have it: the EZITSOL USB Flash Drive - a mix of James Bond gadgets and Olympic stamina. It won’t save the world, but it’ll keep your files safe while you sip your shaken-not-stirred coffee. *Disclaimer: No actual secret missions were conducted during this review.*

Ezitsol 64GB Secure USB Drive
It is what it claims to be which is why I keep buying them (5). I wish it came with 128 GB or more of storage though. It's cost is reasonable considering it's benefits. I can use it on questional computers without fear of some unknown accessing and altering data. For storage I obviously use another USB Thumb Drive but for some permanent application (Linux multiboot operational systems) this Ezitsol is my go to and my Fav.

Nach 5 Monaten Nutzung gibt der Stick langsam seinen Geist auf mit dem Fehler "directory block failed checksum". Neu formatieren hilft auch nicht, der Fehler kommt nach einer Weile wieder. Kauft was anderes!

They work. I've given them a bit of a work out so far by flashing multiple versions of Linux on them. Transfer rates are fine for USB 3.0. they heat up less than some others I have. I prefer to have the button on the side, but works.
