Big smiles. Hrs of enjoyment
After deciding to upgrade the home stereo followed a few weeks of research and deliberating. Budget decided on narrowed it down to three, mostly decided on what others had written in reviews, also what hifi.Thing that eventually clinched it was the Ortofon 2M stylus.Right , we have Analogue sound transferred to digital, surely that defeats the object of vynl. Pre amp to think about. Same process led me to the Fosi Audio MM valve pre amp. Finally through the Denon RCDM41dab to a pair of Wharfedale diamond 9.1.Not having listened to vynl for over twenty years, dug out from the garage first to hand was Queen, Night at the Opera, quick clean and on it went. Took a step back and waited,Big smile.... that's nice, turned up a bit, bit more. Think I've made the right choice. Not that I've tried the others , adjust the counter weight bringing fully to life . Initial setup was painless even for me . Well made , decent platter ,heavy & well balanced with also a slip mat included, if this price range is this quality what on earth are the top end ranges like.Carbon fibre arm is virtually weightless & looks fantastic, motor is silent as in no audible hum , time will tell on that one. Looks are stylish & look well with the others. Project did a really good job with this not only for price but build quality. More than pleased with my purchase, definitely recommend.

First turntable, and I couldn't be happier with it!
After having been left to housesit for a friend with a brilliant record collection I was completely sold on vinyl. Bought this as my first turntable and I've not been disappointed, it's brilliant.Everything I've played so far has sounded truly stunning. Listening to albums that I've played for years, albums that I though I knew every note and lyric of, has become a process of rediscovery. Beyond the sonic pleasures the aesthetic design is obviously elegant, and I'd be hard pressed to imagine a room where this wouldn't look good, and wouldn't make the room look better by extension. In terms of the logistics and set up, the turntable comes extremely well packaged (with helpful and detailed instructions on how to repackage in the same way for transporting). For the set up I was slightly apprehensive, but the manual that comes with it is clear and concise, without being simplified or losing any important technical details, and I supplemented this with an online instructional video (there are lots) to give me extra confidence, and in the end it's actually very straightforward. The only thing I would make specific mention of is the stylus cap on the much-lauded Ortofon cartridge, it's fine coming of, but a little fiddly to get back on, so be careful (again, I consulted the internet for guidance the first time I couldn't get it on, and as always the internet didn't disappoint). The final thing to acknowledge is the price, I did a lot of reading before buying this record player, and yes there are a lot of perfectly serviceable players out there at lower price points, but what I would say is that this feels like a worthwhile investment. Inarguably vinyl is an expensive medium, and your record collection is going to end up costing you, so you might as well start from a solid foundation even if it costs a little more, it's a record player that sounds great, is a pleasure to own and use, and won't damage your records, but thankfully doesn't come with a four-figure plus price tag. It's the best £330 I've spent in a very long time, and I cannot recommend it highly enough (as you could probably already tell if you've made it this far)Technical:- Phono & Amp: Marantz PM6005 Integrated Amplifier Marantz PM6005 Integrated Amplifier with Digital Input - Black- Speakers: Q Acoustics Concept 20 Q Acoustics Concept 20 Blk (Pr)- Leads: Cable Mountain Phono RCA Cable Mountain 1m High Quality Gold Plated 2x Phono to 2x Phono RCA Cable- Wiring: Electrosmart 2.5mm 25m Quality 18AWG Loud Speaker Cable - Multi-Strand by electrosmart® - Outside Dimensions of Cable: 5mm x 2.5mm with Fisual Banana Plugs Fisual Easy Fix Banana Plug (Pack of 4)

Project Debut Carbon DC for a real musical experience at a low cost
Many years ago I decided to sell my turntable and get a cd player the main reason that I could not get hold of new releases on vinyl. I never really got on with the sound of digital music via cd's or mp3's. As a result I purchased an av system and got in to watching movies so the sound of music deteriorated even more. However I recently binned my AV system and upgraded my amp, speakers and cd to a music only system and the music bug bit me again. There is a vinyl revival and you can now buy records again so I decided to purchase a turntable, I originally intended to spend a fair amount of money on a new record deck but decided not to go mad and I purchased the Debut Carbon DC in Black. The deck came very well packaged and was very easy to set up taking approx 15 mins and also looks really nice in its Black gloss finish. The sound quality of vinyl is as I remember it and to my ears is superior to the new marantz cd player I have just purchased for roughly the same price. Listening to music via vinyl is more of an event and a far more musical experience than listening to digital music, and I suggest that this deck is a great way to buy in to this at a reasonable cost.If you want to spend a lot of money there are better decks about but I don't think there is much around at this sort of cost, I strongly recommend you take a look and a listen.
