A good printer at a good price
I agree with MikeR's review, but from a complete novice's point of view would add a few things:- Amazon ship it in a massive box. Very well protected.- It was set-up and running in about 20 minutes.- The spool tray that comes with the printer is useless for 1kg spools. This isn't a major problem as I printed a replacement as the 3rd item I printed and the first larger item. This did need to be split and printed in 2 parts due to the bed size, but was a good lesson in printing larger objects.- The files on the supplied USB stick were corrupted, but they are available for download from the website (and a newer version) so no problem.- The smaller bed size / print volume will make you think about what you print rather than just downloading and printing. Some things will just be too big. But, unless it needs to be waterproof, most things can be split into separate parts and printed.- The biggest problem I've found is pauses as it is USB only. I haven't found a way around this yet - and this seems to be true for all USB 3D printers, not just this one. Prints will pause and the print head will stay where it is, melting the model a little at the spot until it resumes. This leaves blemishes which need to be cleaned up. On balance it seems to be a price worth paying for the printer's price. On balance, for someone trying 3D printing for the first time, this is a good printer at a good price.

Quick to get up and running, and good quality prints - small build area though
I've been running a reprap 3d printer for the past 4 years and that took 3 days to build-this one was printing within 10 minutes of opening the box !Despite it's price, it doesn't look cheap or flimsy. Metal and 5mm glossy black acrylic make for a sturdy and attractive design.Pros:ready to run immediatelyuses any filament (no chips here!)very cheapCons:Quite large (tall) due to it being a delta printer. No heated bed, so you'll be using PLA only, no ABSSmall build area : 13cm diameter circleother printers have 13cm square build areas, and some maths shows you you can only fit a 10cm square object in that circular space.Comes with repetier host software, and both cura and slic3r. Only change from the default was to set the first layer speed down to 15mm/sec in cura to aid sticking - as I didn't want to use a raft.I think that small build area might limit my use (slightly) but I still have the reprap for larger prints when required. For under £200 it's a great deal !

Flawed. Better printers out there.
Running quickly out of the box. Was compatible with a raspberry pi using octoprint - set up without any issues. You don't want this printing while you're in the room - it's louder than I expected.2018 update: I wouldn't recommend this printer. Partly because there are better ones out there: consider something like the creality ender 3: larger build volume, cheaper, superior print quality, popular printer so more community support for it. Sure you spend an hour or two for assembly, but time well spent.I struggle with overhangs on this printer, the nozzle head isn't very rigid because of play in the push rods (I plan to improve this by modifying to add some preload), and it is impossible to get replacement parts in the UK - I contacted customer service about this and didn't hear back. The print bed is made of persex not glass - it has warped over time and so it is impossible to get the first layer right for prints with a large footprint.

Not a great printer. Problems will come after time
I have had this machine for 2 years now, and it's not that great. The first half year or so everything was pretty fine. It produced some decent result prints, though I was very limited by the small build surface. After some time many problems begun to arrive. It was all small problems but it was just annoying to always have these issues that could come in mind. After 1 and a half year there still came more and more problems and I kinda stopped printing. Now after 2 years I have given totally up. It's not worth anymore to spend time fixing all these problems to get a bad result. Overall I am not that satisfied with this printer and will not recommend it. Keep that in mind if you want this printer, cause most of the other reviews are based on the performance after a month or so.
