The original pad that came with my A40 headphones was very flimsy. The backing was sturdy, but the foam itself was no substantial enough. As such, the hard plastic edges of the upper headband would end up resting on my head directly which resulted in headaches. I was ready to throw the headphones in the trash until I found this little gem. It's definitely "after market" but has converted my headphones from a medieval torture device to a functional, comfortable headset again. STRONGLY recommend that you replace the stock pad with this one if you want comfort during those epic gaming sessions.

Fits ALL A40 models. Easy to install.
I have used Astro products for about 12 years now, and they live up to their reputation. However availability of replacement parts and custom sets can be tricky and have long shipping/delayed shipping times. This came very fast, was economically priced and clicked right in. I have a custom Astro A40 ID in voltage yellow that the headband is particularly smaller. I am a bigger guy with a massive head. It feels like this was made for wider headed people, as it expanded the length of my original headset band to have no gap. Uses the glossy carbon finish, a known afternote of many Astro designs. Based on the length I would NOT use this on an A20 or A30 model. Fits excellent with ALL A40 models, and select A50 models. A10s don't have a removable headband either, so another no go for that particular model.

This is the same headband that came stock with my a40’s minus the Astro logo. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste money on the OEM band and get this instead
