Deliciously dark morality chain
This is prime time CD Reiss. She leads her readers to the precipice and shoves them off the edge. The free fall is simply glorious! Manhattan Mafia is a deliciously dark Mafia morality chain centered around The Colonia - a crime family dedicated to traditions so creepy that it naturally follows that the center piece of their operations is sex trafficking - and set in a dream like version of New York where an anxious unease lurks in the shadowed doorways and dark alleys. Dario will turn you inside out with his dirty talk and quest for vengeance. Or is it absolution? It all hinges on Sarah Colonia, the daughter of his sworn enemy, shaking the scales from her eyes and seeing the world clearly for the first time. She blossoms before our eyes growing from sheltered handmaiden to warrior queen. Their connection is scorching hot, brought to life by Reiss' always magical prose which sets the many moods of this story. Reiss effortlessly shifts moods from the relentless staccato of an especially gritty New York on the verge of war to the dreamy, willow the wisp castle in the forest that shelters our lovers. It all works so seamlessly. It's harrowing and horrifying, seductive and even soothing.Simply put, this wrecked me in the best way.#onehandedoneclick

A lot of information, and a lot of action
So in this book we find out about some of the secrets that were sort of revealed at the end of the first book. I have to be honest, there is a lot of violence and some of it is not so pretty - but that should be expected from a dark mafia romance. It always amazes me how she can create these worlds that are unlike anybody else’s. I enjoyed this book and I’m anxiously awaiting the finale which looks to be pretty interesting.

Love it.
Sarah lacks a lot of essential skills except for what she was taught and that was how to take care of her husband and family. She is eager to learn everything she can. She is a quick learner but still lacks knowledge on a lot of things.Dario wants war with Sarah’s family because of what they do and how they treat women. He is also torn as he loves Sarah and doesn’t want to hurt her because of what he will have to hurt her family. This is the second of a trilogy. It is really good. The back-and-forth between Sarah and Dario. what is right, wrong, evil, and good. Sarah wants peace and Dario wants revenge. I cannot wait for book 3 and the conclusion. I gasped at the cliffhanger. I am really enjoying CD books.

Book 2 is a winner
Book 2 of 3, must read book 1 first. The on again off again romance continues. There are hard moments to understand. They are married by the spilling of blood, not necessarily legally. Trouble is he went through a legal marriage ceremony before. “He’s married but he’s not “. She was a little too quick to forget and move on with their relationship while he got his divorce from someone he married because he couldn’t adopt her as a single parent- in order to save her life. He’s a bad boy with a good heart. She’s stronger than she thought. Now I can’t wait for the third book. NEXT……

Dario and Sarah
I can’t believe how sheltered she was, not knowing how to even use a cellphone. Also, how can she be so soft against the people who will kill her. It’s going to cost them so much. I hope Neco makes it because I want him to. Massimo can die as far as I care and so can her friend. She better come up with a plan because Dario can’t lose anyone else. Ready for book 3 in this series

Better than the 1st
Still slow and drug out. Too much detail on the unnecessary and not enough on what is. However. Good story line and am interested enough to wait for book 3

Page turned
Continuing Sarah and Dario's story, learning ,more about what the Colonia are really about about and how they devalue women's roles. Sarah learns truths she never though could be and her feelings for Dario change.

So good!
The highs and lows of this story are immense. The emotional upheavals will bring you joy and rip you apart! What Sarah goes through is sad and happy, painful and exhilarating. What Dario goes through is soul changing. With danger around every corner, they navigate the mine field with love and caution. The ending will leave you torn apart. But the promise of an HEA will pull you to book 3.
