10 Fat Controllers. Fat Trapper Cooking Pads. Grill & Oven. ABSORBS Fat

I had recently tried to cook two lamb grills in my cooker with the result being a kitchen full of smoke, windows open, doors flapping open and closed to try to dissipate the smoke, but still the hall smoke alarm and the kitchen fire alarm went off, grrrr! When your eyes are streaming and you can't stop coughing, it does tend to put you off grilling. I had recalled seeing a similar product on Lakeland but being a canny shopper I looked for a cheaper version and came across this product, complete with it's excellent reviews. I ordered two packs and they duly arrived well packed in a large white bubble envelope. For their first outing, four Tesco Finest Aberdeen Angus burgers were nervously placed on top of the pad on the grill pan. These previously spitty, furiously smoky wee chaps cooked perfectly, NO smoke at all. No residue left on the inside of the grill door, no acrid smell, no "dirty fat" smell afterwards left in grill all excellent. I did have to turn the grill down to low though, as the burgers were cooking faster than usual probably due to the pads being coated in a reflective foil type substance - can't complain about saving energy. I also forgot about the grill an for hours after dinner by which point the pad was cold and had started to stick to the bottom of the pan so do try to remember to remove the pad and dispose of it before it's completely cold. I also noticed another perk of using these fat controllers - I always use cut down oven bottom liners in my grill pans/baking sheets as they stop ANYTHING from sticking when you cook/grill - these fat controllers absorb all the fat in the food so my liners just need a quick wipe over, no fat to scrub out of them each time now!If you are wondering whether or not to try these, go for it, I'm sure you won't regret it. You can even cut them smaller to make them last longer, if you are only cooking say one burger, piece of chicken or whatever. I wish I'd found these sooner but at least now I can look forward to some more previously banned foods cooked in the grill - ribs, chicken pieces, etc, hurrah!

Item is great for grilling bacon etc. have been using these for many years now.They take around a week to be delivered.

I'm not domesticated, and a total housework slob, so any thing that reduces the risk of effort is welcomed. These are great, no more scraping out gooey fat from grilled sausages every time. Could do with being an inch wider but otherwise great.

Instead of frying things like bacon and sausages I grill them. These pads work brilliantly, they soak up all excess fat so you’re not having to clean your grill pan every time you use it. Definitely recommend

The product is good and does the job very well. I would prefer them to be slightly longer, or at least have the option of longer ones, as I have to use two so that they overlap for complete protection. Other than that, no problem. I have used this product a lot and just re-order when necessary. Good value for money.

Ordered these as a replacement for my normal Fat Trapper brand. These arrived promptly and used for first time today. They are very thin compared to my normal brand, they do not absorb the fat as well, but as they are far cheaper (around 1/3 the price) I am happy to use these once and throw away.Great product to help keep the grill pan and rack clean, cutting down on the amount of fat collected.

This pack of ten absorbent backed, perforated foil grill liners represents excellent value for money. Although they're thinner and more flimsy than the Lakeland fat trappers, these measure about the same size (13.5" x 7.75") and fit standard grill pans.These are better designed for light use/single use.I've uploaded some pics to illustrate the thickness of this product.They're best used as disposable if you're cooking a grill pan full of sausages or burgers which will drip a lot of grease - they're not thick enough for multiple use - but they are ideal for lining the grill pan for guests to my letting cottage who (hopefully) won't be using the cooker a lot.I can put a fresh one out every week without having to run to the expense of a Lakeland trapper.I line the grill pan with the pad and put the grill rack on top - the heat reflects back off the foil to help do the underside of the cooking food, and the fibre liner absorbs drips, and is just that bit further away from the source of the heat to prevent any grease 'flare' - I prefer this way than having the food sit directly on top of the pad, but it's just what suits me.The aluminium layer can wipe clean and go in the recycling after separating it from the absorbent pad, which can go in the compost caddy, so it'll all recycle. Better, in a way than the more expensive counterparts which would probably be kept for multiple use with the attendant smell of previous 'greasy spoons' between usage.Even when saturated with drippings, these don't fall apart or disintegrate. Just the job.

Excellent for keeping grill pans clean in ovens

We use this product for bacon and sausage. It keeps the stove clean because we use the oven to cook with this product. The product extracts the fat and leaves no mess. Easy cleanup because the bags hold all the fat.
