Eagles - Dark Desert Highways: 6 CD Box Set - Bookzine Special Limited Edition Bundle

If you love everything Eagles ever did, this 6-disc set is a great addition to the collection. Most of these CDs have been offered individually before, but are much better value in this set.The CDs cover acoustic and electric, and both are excellent. The electric material fills a particular gap, as the 1980 live double album never really did the band justice.Within the electric, there's quite a lot of Joe's material, and his importance to the band as a guitarist is very evident here. He really turned Eagles from a pop into a fully fledged rock band. Though often thought of as "country-rock" or "soft-rock" artists, Eagles were much better at the heavier end than you'd realise from their studio material alone.In all, this a great collection from one of the greatest rock/pop groups of all time.

Early live Eagles performances. Sometimes the sound quality isn't great, sometimes the music isn't as polished as it became but this is the best band I have seen live and these performances show you where they came from. Great collection, love it

If you have The Second Night Unplugged 1994, most of it is on here. Don Kirshner's Rock Concert is here, and the last disc is available at the end of Lives Of The Outlaw Men. A lot of duplication here, I haven't played it yet, but the box is nice and the sleeves are worthy but buy this one before you buy any of the others mentioned above, they are all here. Out of the 9 live Eagles discs I mention, 4 are repeated, some not even completely, minus a song or two off The Extra Night Unplugged 1994. Don Kirshner's rock Concert is all here, as is the Ontario CA disc 6 as extra tracks on Lives Of The Outlaw Men. Unplugged 1994 The Extra Night has more songs than the 2 discs representing that show on this box, so really all you're getting is the Houston Hotel CA live 1976 2 disc with this box. Price was right tho, just sayin'.

Great live set for great price. A must for any Eagles fan, some fine moments on these six discs. Quality recordings for not a lot of money.

It's enjoyable hearing these live sets, with a few warts, for the atmosphere and excitement. I know most of the songs so well from all the studio albums. The sound quality is certainly acceptable for a set of recordings like this. More detailed sleeve notes would make it perfect but considering the bargain price and solid packaging from Coda, I'll give it a 5 star rating.
