Excellent informative book
This book is excellent and what more can i say, it’s Dr Li. He explains things in a way for you to understand. He goes into the scientific side to help you understand the benefits of each food. It certainly makes you think differently about the foods you eats and the benefits you get from them. I would thoroughly recommend this book along with his other one eat to beat disease. Great value for money, thought provoking and certainly beneficial.

Very informative
I have enjoyed learning about the benefits of many plant-based products and some interesting facts about metabolism in this book. It has definitely shed light on some truths about weight gain that I didn’t already know. However, it is information heavy. It felt over-detailed at times, which took away from its readability. A more concise approach, with a touch of humour would have made this 5 stars, rather than 4.

Eat to Beat Disease
Not for me. I have done years of healthy eating and exercise and still ended up with Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and now Cancer.

Dr. Li’s wisdom is a must to read, heed, and share!.
No surprise to me that so many human diseases and conditions have arisen in relationship to the contents & preparation of the foods we eat, combined with exercise, and our lifestyle choices. Dr. Li offers his wisdom, years of professional experience, and research in an easy-to-understand format. This book is his follow-up to, Eat to Beat Disease, which is a must to read and share with those you love!

Fabulous book!
Some longwinded negative reviews seem to have completely missed the point!I decided to buy this book, having listened to a Dr Chatterjee podcast with Dr Li. I found his book a fascinating read, because you learn what foods actually do to your body and what damage fat, either subcutaneous or visceral, is doing to your body. This is essential! You really need to read right through it, not skim through and skip to the “diet” bit. It is written in a clear way for everyone to understand. It would be foolish, after having read all this fascinating information, to carry on putting foods into your body that are actually harming you. Ok, we all know that burgers, chips, sweets etc. are bad for us, but do we know why? Do we know what they’re actually doing and how they cause disease? This book explains it! It also explains how slim people can carry fat around their vital organs, why that is, and what to do about it. The good news is that you can consume foods that actually activate your body’s fat-burning abilities. What Dr Li is saying is that it’s a guide for you to follow, it’s NOT a diet! You don’t have to follow his recipes, you just have to swap the foods on the list of foods that slow down your metabolism with the foods that speed up fat burning. There are lots of delicious healthy foods, you just need to be prepared to do it - you can prepare meals in advance and freeze them, or prep vegetables and freeze them. If you’re looking for excuses not to do it, why bother to buy the book? Also, intermittent fasting works really well: eating your last meal (NO food after that) at say 6.30pm and your first meal of the day at say 8.30am leaves a 14 hour window of fasting. This really works! There really is a whole host of fascinating information in this book.

Very informative book.
Once I start to read this book I found it hard to put down. Dr Li explains everything so that it’s understood by readers not in the medical profession. I’m enjoying the learning process and found following his advice has excellent benefits. .
