Decent brass thread, nice price. WATCH OUT FOR INLET DUST COVER INSIDE! Add spanner, PTFE tape, sealant and don't go overboard.
Perfect, especially for the price. Brass fitting is much easier rather than my existing nylon one. The fill is nearly silent, with a semi-quiet 'donk' at when closing. Instructions were brief, but it's pretty easy to figure out how to use it. The adjustableness is a bit fiddly once in, but as there's a lot to adjust, it's really quite easy to get the level right too. Had no problems at all, I'm a total amateur and had it fitted in 20 mins. I recommend PTFE tape, and some sort of sealant, I had some LS-X hanging around. UPDATE: I've fitted two of these now (limescale problems), and they've both been brilliant. I managed to break one by tightening it up too much (no need to!) and not holding onto it, which snapped the arm to the basket. My own fault for trying to do it alone. I also had a bit of trouble with getting the water to cut off smoothly, but a washer/weight on top of the bucket solved it perfectly for me. Probably could've adjusted it, but a washer and silicon was more easily to hand :) Two warnings (Note: I am *not* a plumber!!): 1. Hold onto it as you tighten it up, so it doesn't get trapped against the cistern side. You don't have to over-tighten, don't squash the rubber too much - just nip it enough to stop water leaking out the cistern. A bit of sealant might be a good idea. 2. As other have said, watch out for the insert that blocks/covers the inlet hole! There's a small cone of clear plastic inside. Stick your finger in the brass hole and pull it out before you connect up. Otherwise you will have trouble...

Feeling flushed.
This is great value and very easy to fit. Took 15 minutes from start to finish, including scraping a load of plumbers mate out of the way from a previous fitting. It appears well made and sturdy and was a perfect replacement for the previous inlet valve. It works perfectly, not too noisy and fast filling. I hasten to add, I am female and have never fitted one before. Easy Peasy. Highly recommend.

flushed with success!!!!
Had to replace the inlet mechanism on a corner toilet as the original went to the great plumbing graveyard in the sky. Chose this as it was a good price and had a brass Bottom. I did have difficulty fitting it but this was not due to the valve, butt the toilet's position. The entrance was at the backside of the cistern which is a corner one as I mentioned, so the brass bottom stuck out underneath right in the corner of the room and was difficult to get the tool in to tighten the nut. I followed the instructions on the setting for the water level and it filled to the correct height after a very minor adjustment on the screw adjuster. I find it a tad noisy on the fill and that's the only bad thing I can say about it. It is causing me earache as it disturbes my lady if anyone uses it in the early hours. Probably would not have noticed except it is the upstairs loo, so sounds even louder. Hence the 4* rating. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to do the replacement as a DIY project. Had I called out a plumber it would have probably cost me in excess of £80, so I saved my self over £70, what can I do with £70, no you can't have it I'm too much of a scrooge( was going to put a tight A**E) for that. Just re read this and feel I have to apologise for the toilet humour......HEHE

Quick and easy. Good quality.
Quick and easy to fit. Adjustable in height to fit variety of cistern. Also the float cup is adjustable to control the amount of water in cistern before shutting off. Quiet filling. Remember, there is a plastic filter inside the brass inlet. You will need to remove it if you are not fitting it directly to an isolation valve otherwise the copper pipe is not able to go inside the inlet and form seal. Many other reviews also talk about it. This is no big deal and easy to achieve. The brass end is helpful in getting a nice thread in with the nut. Otherwise the rest of the unit is no different from the all plastic one I replaced. Overall happy with the purchase. From the looks of it, I am hoping it will last a long time. Time will tell.

Easy to install and so much better
I bought this to replace an old ball cock fill valve which had started making a very loud noise when refilling the toilet. After draining the cistern and remove the old unit, this was an easy fit into the space left behind and maybe took 5 minutes to install. Adjusting the height of the valve is easy - you twist the two pipes and move it up or down, with a twist back to lock it in place. You can then fine tune the water level using the plastic twist thingy as well. I did remove the little plastic filter that other people have mentioned as well. Quality wise this seems well made, I had no issues tightening the nut and so far there are no leaks. My cistern fills a lot faster too with this which I think is great.

Good quality, simple to fit
Used to replace old ball cock fill valve. Old valve was a bit of a nightmare lots of sealant bunging up the hole in the cistern. Could not remove all old sealant as was worried new valve would not seal but quality materials on this fitted well and sealed perfectly. No need to remove filter basket like some other reviewers , guess it depends on the distance between bottom of valve and inlet supply. Quiet and fast operation. Good tip is to measure water level before removing old valve and set valve height up before final fit. Seems excellent quality for the money. Fitted in 30 minutes but most of that was removing old valve and cleaning up sealant. Fitting new valve and getting it working and checking took 5 minutes.

Perfect!
Very pleased with this purchase. I purchased this to replace a much more expensive branded one that was extremely slow to fill the tank on our low pressure system. This did the job perfectly. Comparing it to others I particularly liked: - Not only is the thread brass but the bottom "nut" too. That makes it much easier to get a tight seal at the bottom of the tank. - The flloat mechamism is sheilded ... so if like my you have to install it tight against the side of the tank, the mechamism still works perfectly - It is relatively quick to fill - It was a bargain Only installed it yesterday so cannot comment on reliability. I didn't have any of the fitting issues reported in other reviews and did leave the inline filter installed.

Easy to fit and adjust, read the instructions
Replacement for cloakroom toilet flush which died. Know little about these things but took a punt as inexpensive and sturdy looking. In fact was easy to install though needed a couple of tweaks to ensure cistern filled to correct level and has been working without issues for about a year now. Do measure the cistern to ensure it is going to fit before purchasing!
