does anyone know how dependable the bands are? I heard that the titanium band has come apart causing people to have it repaired, one person lost it

My husband's been wearing his (titanium) watch for almost a year only taking it off to charge during his shower - he's never had a problem of any kind with the watch or the band. He still LOVES it!!

What is the screen size? And is it just through bluetooth?

The display size is 1.2" x 1.2" (30.4 x 30.4 mm) per Garmin's website. Smartphone connect is only via Bluetooth, it will connect via ANT+ to HR straps, cadence, and speed sensors.

Can indoor and outdoor walking and steps be tracked as activities?

Indoor running can, you would need to use that activity setting to record indoor walking as an activity. Outdoor walking has its own activity setting. Steps record both inside and out, however, they don't count toward an activity unless you are in one of the activity settings.
