Children's Illustrated Thesaurus (DK Children's Illustrated Reference)

I loved the quality of this thesaurus. I was looking for a good one because i don't want my kids turning to the internet every time they don't understand a word or its different meanings. I love that there are illustrations to make it more interesting for kids.

Great, attractive, thorough book for the intended age group. A child (and adult) might actually up this book to read for fun!

Retired children’s librarian here. Researched thesauruses for my grandson, just turned seven. This was the leader! Also use it for volunteer tutoring to help children recognize nuances in words and increase their vocabularies. Wonderful for ESL speakers. The visuals Alone are worth the price of the book. This title not only explains the meaning, the visuals show the relationship Amon words. A wonderful achievement in publishing!!

I looked and looked for a decent thesaurus for my 11 and 13 year old. This TOTALLY met all my needs and "wishes" too! The pictures are super appealing, the layout is NOT overly busy which is one thing I really require with my kids--today's society inundates our kids with constant comic-like crap that is just fluffed up garbage a lot of times, books that are full of pictures and "flashiness," but not a lot of substance. This book has substance and serious value. It isn't cheap, at least not compared to the other thesauruses I looked at, but the quality far supersedes the others and I highly recommend. It gives kids a good foundation on which to build off of when it comes to enjoying and using the English language well.

I like it. My 9 yo is learning to use it. It isn't the most detailed thesaurus, but a good start for younger kids

I absolutely cannot express how much I LOVE this thesaurus. When I was growing up in the 1980's and 1990's, thesauruses were stiff, colorless, and boring. Their synonyms were words I'd never heard of and couldn't use appropriately.Enter this book.It's gorgeous, colorful, and reads almost like an encyclopedia with pictures and illustrations, instead of just text. I would seriously buy one for all my friends if I could. This is a grade-schooler MUST!
