Nipple Shield Weaning Kit - Made in USA, 3 Step Open-Ended Nipple Shields Best for Nipple Size 22mm-25mm

I am absolutely desperate to wean my baby off of nipple shields. I have tried everything, so I finally broke down and forked out the ridiculous amount of cash for these 3 nipple shields, and at $10 per shield, I had way higher expectations. These are the worst nipple shields I have ever used. First off, the fact that this set only come in one size is hugely disappointing. Unless you are a size 24mm, these will not fit. They are much bigger than 21mm nipple shields. I like that it has a softer texture, however the material is horribly rigid. That would have to be my biggest complaint. Because they are so rigid, they were incredibly difficult to keep on because DEFINITELY do NOT stick to your breast like other nipple shields on the market, and my baby tried them and absolutely hated them and kept knocking them off. I haven't seen anything else on the market like this except for from LacTech. Their Suckle Through nipple shield is amazing! Soft texture, sticks to your breast WAY better than any nipple shield on the market, it's half the price, and it comes in a bunch of sizes. The one thing that Back to Mom has on LacTech's is theirs is only one weaning height, whereas Back to Mom has 3 steps. theirs would be comparable to Back to Mom's step 2 shield. I bought this one in order to be able to utilize the steps, but so far these have been horrible. I'll keep trying and hope he takes them because I am desperate, and I will update my review if we both change our minds.If you don't need all 3 steps and/or you need a different size, I highly recommend LacTech's. Those were way better. If they had 3 steps to their system, I never would have bought these.

Might be useful for some people but I got my baby girl to latch to my bare breast using the bait and switch technique. Went straight from the nipple shield to the breast. So in my situation, these were a waste of money.

This is a great idea, and I was really hopeful that it would work. It only comes in one size, and apparently it’s not mine, as it feels like sandpaper rubbing against your nipples. The material is also a stiffer rubber and does not stay put on skin and is not flexible when baby tries to feed. They say not to cut the tip off of normal nipple shields as it may cut babies mouth, but I feel like that would be softer than the tips on these, they are very rough and abrupt at the tip.

As a lot of people said, I was trying so hard to get my daughter off the shield and these were a game changer! I already knew this size would work for me based off of my other shields. She took to it so fast and the 3 tiered system worked perfectly for her. I would spend a few days with each one and gradually work all the way down. It completely got her off the shield and FAST. These were really such a life saver when nothing else was working. Highly highly recommend!They may not have stuck to my skin as well as other shields, but for the purpose of weaning off the shield and getting back to the breast—they completely did their job!

I really had high hopes for this to work as I’m struggling to wean my 5 week old from the nipple shield, but it did not. I even am a size 24 in my current medela nipple shield and spectra pump. The silicone does not stick to your skin and would keep coming off. He didn’t like the feel of it either as it’s different than the medela nipple shield I use. It also hurt my nipples when he would suck.. worse than no shield at all. I think the idea is good and hopefully with some changes it could work better. For now, I’m gonna back to fighting to get him on the bare nipple.

I was thoroughly impressed with the results. This product is designed to help you wean off nipple shields and get back to skin on skin feeding with your baby. The round edges of the shield are molded with soft edges, which were perfect for my baby's mouth. It greatly helped my wife who has inverted nipple to be able to nurse our son from both nipples equally.What I loved about this product was the 3 step system it has. It gradually introduces your nipple to your baby and the unique silky texture of the shield feels just like your skin. I appreciated that it was made in the USA with medical-grade silicone and without any harmful chemicals.

This is a great idea but poor execution. They are so huge and do not fit close to the nipple at all. It’s hard to believe they only have one size.

I was really looking forward to use this product to see if it’d work for me. My baby being born premature is so used to the bottle and nipple shied recently but I’m having to pump exclusively. I really wanted to get him to latch naturally as he couldn’t in the beginning. However, the size of these don’t work or fit on all nipple types. Secondly the silicone is hard and may be too rough for baby’s mouth whose trying to latch and apply force to suck. Unfortunately these don’t work for us.
