No extra scrubbing required and the taste is essentially non existent.The big packs last a really long time making them amazing value for money and worth every penny for the time that they save with trying to ram a toothbrush into the gaps. I found that my retainers were looking slightly yellow and wanted to get them looking clean again and these work very well. You just pop a little blue tablet into warm water and just leave it to fizz away. They are delivered with the box folded flat to save space on delivery. They have a slight minty taste which also has a little chemical taste but if you just rinse them after it is fine. They are small little tablets so easy to travel with and don’t take up a lot of room. When the tablet is dissolved in the water, it gives off a nice minty smell, not just of pure chemicals like some other ones I’ve tried. After rinsing the retainers, they don’t smell or taste of anything which is great (some other cleaning tablets leave the retainers smelling and tasting strongly of chemicals no matter how much you rinse them).
