Good reading for the childern

Nice books but it is worth noting that they use American spelling not British which may confuse early readers.

I've been trying to get my 7 year old who has mastered 2nd grade sight words already to read chapter books, but some of the ones I initially bought were too hard and she'd get frustrated. I found these and they are perfect! They're the perfect blend of short chapters, known sight words, and words that she can sound out to decode. She can mainly read these on her own without assistance and can comprehend the text. These are an excellent transition between picture books and harder chapter books, really for 1st and 2nd graders.The illustrations are so colorful and cute and there are speech bubbles between the characters to read as well. The message of each book is positive as well. I have bought a few more of these separately, but this box set is such a deal to get 5 books for $17. They do have a unicorn series like this coming out, so I'll be getting those too. Highly recommended!

Such a nice book series, my 5 year old loves having these read to her.

My 6 year old daughter loves these books! The illustrations are great and she can definitely relate to many of the the diary entries. We are very happy with this set!
