No,it can't. The detection radars are installed on the inside of the rear bumper of the car and cannot penetrate the metal. (The detector signal emitting surface cannot be blocked by metal).

Q: Is any drilling required ?

No need to drill holes. The detectors take the inside of the rear bumper sticky mounting design, and you need to confirm the angle when installing it.
