Great tool for close work
I bought this scope as a tool to use for insect identification. It does not replace a standard binocular scope, but the high magnification coupled with the flexible LED spotlights allows me to see small structures on the critters that help in getting them to species. Note: a ring light might be a better choice for some uses. The flexible LED spots are good for accenting texture on specimens, but are really intense. They do have a click control for brightness. The manual is helpful for setup (especially if you read it...), but setup is pretty intuitive. Not very detailed guidance on connecting it to a laptop, but once you are familiar with how the camera app on a pc works (Hint: find the icon that switches between cameras!) it snaps in and off you go. There is a memory card in slot on the back of the screen for saving photos and videos, but it's convenient to use a laptop for this. The images are then saved in your photo roll (PC). It would be helpful if there was a measurement tool on it. I've been using this for about a week, and am happy with it. Good tool for a good price.

Decent choice
Before I begin, I'd like to mention that I primarily bought this microscope for soldering purposes, so my experience and opinion are mainly focused on that aspect. First and foremost, the microscope comes with three lenses. I found the A and L lenses to be the most useful, with the A lens being my default choice and the L lens reserved for extremely fine work or when I don't feel like connecting an external monitor. The A lens works wonderfully when paired with a large external monitor, providing ample details. However, I only use the L lens when I'm feeling lazy because its magnification is too high, which often requires me to constantly move the PCB instead of focusing on the actual soldering. All height adjustments are handled by a sturdy piece of metal. Unfortunately, my microscope arrived with a damaged adjustment piece that became completely stuck at around 2/3 of the way from the bottom position. I contacted customer support, and although it took about two weeks, they eventually provided me with a replacement. It's worth noting that even with the damaged adjustment piece, the microscope remained usable, but I couldn't change the magnification. If you own a 3D printer, there are numerous expansion possibilities for this microscope. For instance, I printed a ring light and a polarizer lens adapter, which allowed me to have better illumination than what the included lights provided. Additionally, I built a replacement PCB for the lights, enabling me to power the entire setup with a single cable using a type-C connector instead of dealing with multiple cables. One thing I do miss about this microscope is the absence of a thread on the microscope lenses. While the side screws aren't too difficult to work with, they limit you to the provided lenses. For example, if you want to use a barlow lens with the L lens to increase your working space, you'll need a 3D-printed adapter. Overall, I'm somewhat conflicted about how to rate this microscope. If you plan to use it as a general-purpose microscope, it works well right out of the box. It offers a decent selection of lenses and fulfills your expectations. However, if your primary intention is to use it for soldering, it becomes more hit or miss due to the lack of threaded lenses, making it challenging to use third-party options unless you create a 3D-printed adapter for them. For me it was well worth the price and effort.

Rating based on value for the money
I'm rating this as a 5-star product based on value for the money that I'm getting out of it. It's an excellent little microscope for my purposes. I'm not sure it is really all that great as far as either quality or features. You can make it much better than it is with a few additions. I'm a photographer, and I'm using this to check mineral specimens for certain features. I do this because it's much easier to use this device than to use my main camera, which usually requires a change of lenses between specimens, a complete reset of the lighting, etc. An actual lab microscope isn't much better as a time saver. This microscope allows me to find what I'm looking for quickly and easily, so I can make notes and then later do the serious photography. I added a lab stage to allow the specimens to be moved in very small increments. To keep it in place on the base, I put one of those sticky pads that you put on your dashboard to keep your phone in place. That works really well. I've also added a small macro ring light, which I already had. Sometimes I use the lights that came with the microscope because of reflections or the need for more of a side light, but the ring light is much better most of the time. A piece of velcro is helpful to keep the switch in place on the base. I put it on one corner. I believe, at the time I bought this, it said it came with a 32MB micro SD card. I received a 64MB card. Your mileage may vary on that I suppose. Ok now for the not-so-good. The height adjustment is mostly useless. It's way too course and it isn't smooth to adjust at all. If you unlock it completely using the knob on the back, the whole microscope and monitor will fall down. You pretty much have to hold the whole thing, make the adjustment, and lock the knob. The resolution is also below average. It's better than the little handheld ones, but that isn't saying much and it's mostly because the light on this one is much better. It's almost impossible to get something in focus all the way across the frame. Even completely flat subjects parallel to the base are blurry toward the edges, and usually it's more noticeable in one corner or another. Having said that, the monitor is nice and bright and easy to see. It can also be plugged in to a regular monitor via HDMI, but I found no benefit to that as the provided monitor gives an image that's at least as good. The instructions seemed to say that settings would be saved if you use the on/off switch on the monitor to turn it off, but it always turns on in video mode no matter what other mode you set it to before turning it off. I want it to stay in photo mode, but it won't. That's minor, but annoying anyway. The remote works well most of the time, but I've found it to be somewhat fiddly when taking images. Maybe I'm too close. Also, you can't take images when connected to a Windows computer and using it as a camera input. You have to take the images using Windows in that case, which puts them on the Camera Roll. I kind of wish it would work both ways at the same time, but I won't fault the company for that. I did have some fun with it by taking multiple images with slightly different focus of a mineral formation, and then using professional focus-stacking and processing software on the (somewhat crummy) JPG images it produced. The resulting photo had kind of a "so-bad-it's-good" quality and an ethereal look that was surprisingly satisfying. I might experiment more with that style just to see what it produces. Overall a good purchase for me, but I can certainly see where some users might experience frustration with some aspects of this microscope. Just don't expect too much and you'll probably be happy with it.

I didn't think I was going to like it but...
It's my first microscope and it's awesome. On the first day I got it I was using it for soldering and zooming into very small electronic components that are the size of a pencil tip to help troubleshoot. Soldering was the main reason I purchase this but the additional "D" len is such a great feature for exploring features of tiny insects and plants in great detail. I even found a parasite on the fruit fly specimen that came with the microscope. Yes it comes with several specimen of insects and plants, normal things that you'll see everyday but under a microscope it's a whole different level. I like using the remote when recording or taking photo, this is because you don't want to touch the screen or you'll lose focus of the object therefore the remote is very handy. It's pricey for most hobbyist but nothing crazy that would break your wallet. I am very pleased and excited to use it more so I bought the 3 year warranty so I can sleep a little better. What I don't like- Not being able to adjust the horizontal position if you're working on a larger PCB like a computer motherboard this microscope will have a harder time. You can remove it from the stand and find a different solution to mount it over your work, but I felt for the price they should at least added this feature. I don't like the clips that screw to the base to hold down your PCB for soldering, it's always getting in the way and it can scratch your electronic so I did not install it. I feel like I might break this so I am gentle with it, also getting the additional warranty help ease that fear since it's only a 1 year warranty by default. You should be careful not to overtighten any screw especially when mounting the scope. Use your fingers, don't use a screw driver.

Great scope with extender
I like this scope for viewing coins and such but did not need the biological samples or the other two lenses so another model might have been better from the same company. Annoyed that the micro SD card appears to go in backwards to make it difficult to go in and out but other than that I have taken thousands of pictures with it. The software interface could definitely use more work and I have not tried plugging it directly into a PC to see if it's useful as a camera there or not. A longer bar would be nice so that you can take a full picture of something larger than a silver dollar. While it feels like a pretty good quality the focus adjustment knob is a bit sloppy while adjusting it as it is a coarser adjustment then it should be. I also do not like the fact that has no Direct downward lighting like other models have, just the two stalk lights. Their customer service seems to be very nice and eager to help including offering to let you test new gear so that kept it 4 star.
