Living in a rainforest in Alaska, the climate is extremely harsh and toxic for any and all wiring. All of the coated wire and other less expensive wire I've purchased on here over the years has all had to have been replaced by this stuff because of corrosion that has literally climbed feet up into the wiring sheeting. This stuff has proven to be like the good ole wire you used to buy 20-30 years ago. The outer black sheeting is certainly thick and you'll want a good pair of wire strippers with a hook on them to slice it back. Do not try this with a razor or anything else. It ain't worth slicing any of your digits wide open. But, it provides excellent protection for the inner wire.

Good wiring product, working well

I like the thick insulation and it’s copper not aluminum so will maximize current carrying capacity for a 12 gauge wire. I am using it in my automotive projects for power lead in the engine bay for things like high power light bar and off road lights. It’s a bit difficult to strip the outer black cover but once done carefully and some heat shrink used properly makes a very nice professional looking cable installation that looks robust and worthy of a life under the hood.

I do like these, so 5 stars. My only critique is that it is a bit difficult to strip the outer casing due to non uniform shape. I've accidentally cut into the wire insulation more than once. Otherwise though, this stuff is great. Not too many strands, or too few, basically good wire ready for crimping, ferrules, or solder.

Is great price, work good, Is separate wires and comes with sheath just what I was looking for to use on the farm.

This will work well where you may have wiring exposed to the elements and abrasive situations. Be aware that it is a heavy sheath that will require room to install. This is not for tight places on a vehicle. It will work great for trailer wiring and anything external on the vehicle. It is not easy to pull this through a firewall to install equipment inside the vehicle. If you need this heavy gauge of wire ran into the driver's compartment I would suggest something without the sheath. Overall it is a good product for what it is for.

Very thick shielding. Great connectivity. And with the proper connectors I’ve had very little corrosion. I use this on my commercial trailers
