StyleTouch Pure HandHeld Garment Steamer GC442/67

First I bought the Philips steamer with a 70ml water tank, which the product itself was horrible. Then I got the "StyleTouch Pure HandHeld Garment Steamer GC442/67". This is just perfect, with one water tank I can do SO MUCH. What I most like about this product is how it works. You fill the water tank, turn it on and a blue light starts flashing. After a few seconds, 60s I'd say, the light stays steady and you can use the steamer. On the first one I got you wouldn't know and the steamer would stop out of the blue as the water wasn't warm enough. Not on this one, when you start using, it doesn't stop, it's just great. I would gift one of these to everyone I know haha

It’s amazing! Nice long wire, comes with a padding you hang with the hanger when steaming - which makes it so much easier to iron shirts on the hanger! One load of water lasted me for 5 shirts - that’s great baring in mind the size of water container. It comes with descaling option - which looks like it will prolong the life of iron. It looks and feels nice - typical quality you would expect from Philips. I honestly don’t know how I lived without one before!

When buying this steamer after reading endless reviews and considering options, I decided to give i a go despite it's premium price, specially for the de-calc functionality and trying to have some peace of mind by purchasing from a well known brand. Well imagine the disappointment when after reading the instructions, filling it with water, waiting the light to stop blinking and having ready my shirts to be steamed out of wrinkles, No Steam was produced. Of course defective products happen, but when you are paying a notorious premium compared with the average cost of similar products you expect a better quality control in place to avoid a product not to perform its main task. A blemish, ok. A malfunctioning cord, ok. A pricey steamless steamer, not ok. Returning this item.

A few people mentioned that the product didn’t produce any steam. The manual instruction states that you should keep the trigger pulled for a full minute when used for the first time. That didn’t work. The machine was generating pumping noises without steam. I kept the trigger pulled for over 7mins and then the pumping noises started to fade away and then steam started to come out. Once the product started producing steam, I was happy with its performance and its value. I recommend people trying out this machine for the first time to keep pressing on the trigger for 10mins before sending it back.

Works really well. This is my fourth steamer. They usually pack up pretty quickly but this one is lasting well. Felt very heavy at first but I think I’m getting used to it now.

Arrived on time, and absolute joy to use. Easy to fill, even though you have to take the whole unit to the tap. Heats up quick and steams creases out with ease.

Unfortunately I have to leave a low review as the product did not produce any steam once arrived. I followed the instructions to hold down the button for 60 seconds. I then saw a review which advised to hold it down for 10 minutes which I tried and held for longer and nothing! You can feel it heating up and ticking but no steam. Really gutted because I love the size / aesthetics and really wanted it to work. Luckily Amazon are good with returns so I sent it back no problem but since then I’ve seen a few reviews experiment the same issue. Not sure whether it’s a manufacturing fault and product needs to be re called?
