Had problems with cats peeing/spraying couch when we weren't around (and we ruled out all other options). So this cover goes on the couch when no human is in the room. It is heavy and thick plastic, which is a bonus, but it is a little heavy but totally doable to take on/off when needed. I only weight 125 lbs and am not that strong, but can do this myself no problem. It fits pretty well shape wise. I was at first skeptical that it would hold up to claws, but I am impressed so far after 2 weeks. I have young, spastic cats and they have launched themselves off the couch and fight on it and even play with toys on it. No poked through holes yet. You will get these tiny dot imprints of where their claws press into the thick plastic, but so far it has held up to their craziness. And the best part is that no cat has peed or sprayed my couch yet since we've put this cover on it. I am so happy that I bought another one! I'll update when/if I have problems with it.....to help document durability. But so far so good. Totally worth the price.

This is a heavy gauge plastic cover which fit my 3-section sofa perfectly. You have to figure out how it fits, but once you get it on correctly, the plastic goes to the floor on the back and the front, as well as covering the arm rests properly. They did not skimp on materials.I bought this because I have a new puppy, and it does a good job of defending the couch from "accidents". I do not allow the dog to chew on the cover. It's not tough enough for that (no cover is). I have a cheap cloth cover on top of the plastic, which is something I recommend if you are buying this because you have animals.

Edit: Well, he managed to get through the plastic and scratch the couch. Brand new leather couch, now has a nice scratch in it. I recommend double layering, which is what I'm about to do.I have a big boy kitty who has massive claws that destroy everything. He even damages stuff just by jumping on it. His claws are so long, I wasn't sure this would work to protect my new leather couch (he loves destroying leather!) but so far so good! I'll have to see how it holds up in a year, but I'm very happy that he hasn't already destroyed my new couch. I'm pretty impressed by how thick the plastic is. The size is good too, covers my whole couch down to the floor quite nicely.Overall, my cat has yet to get through it, so that's a huge thumbs up from me. If he does end up destroying it, I'll come back and let you all know, but I have high hopes. It's worked so far, so fingers crossed!

I was a little usure when I ordered this, I saw a few bad reviews about tears, but this product is amazing. I have a 16 pound cat that likes to try to claw , jump up on, and pee on my couch. For the first week he wouldnt even touch the thing, Now he will jump on it, and try to claw it but his claws dont pierce.I even leave it partially sleeved on the arm rest because the cat used to claw the couch when he jumped to lay on the arm, the plastic has held up completely. Ive had it for almost two months now.Update***Its been about 6 months now. I still love it! I call it a couch condom because it protects my couch from my pussy cat lol. Still no rips or tears even though i sit on it sometimes, and my cat sleeps on it. He has peed on it several times, its an easy clean up.

Product was overall ok. It is definitely durable for light use. Our problem was the sofa size was extremely large compared to our average sized sofa. It would not stay put and slid around a lot. Within a week of our dog jumping on it while we are gone to work it got a hole in it. Then it tore. We have since thrown it away after about a week and a half. Cats are good. They couldn’t claw through it but don’t get it your intended use is to prevent dog wear. (Reference: our dog is a lab mix, about 65lbs)

So I have 4 cats and three dogs- and one cat has seizures. We had to get rid of our old furniture as it was old and had been peed on and was disgusting. Since I rarely get new furniture, I decided to look into these plastic covers. I bought this one for our couch and it's been great!!! Now, it's not like this thing is going to last forever, I am on my second one, but it's been almost 2 years - and did I mention we also have 2 kids in addition to the critters? We have one cat who still pees on it, but I just wipe it off, spray with cleaner and wipe that up, then Lysol the heck out of it. If we have company we take the covers off, but that's a rare occurrence. It does get splits and some rips (2 of our dogs are 125 + lbs)- but I just duct tape it and we move along. I finally replaced one and am buying another as a backup just in case. It's way better than having disgusting furniture!!! A trick- I tuck the back ends of this cover under the legs of the sofa so it holds it in place. It's not a perfect fit, but it does the job!
