Puerto Rico 1897 is the same amazing game but with beautiful art, 4 expansions, and fixed. When it was originally printed it had fewer coffee plantations, errors in the instructions and no text in the tiles to explain what each building did. All that is fixed! The art in the tiles and the crisp colors make it more enjoyable than the original version that is just text. If you got the old copy or if you are new to the game, this is a fantastic edition.

The game is finally fixed!!!The is one of my all time favorite games, but through a series of moves after high school and in the following years of college my copy got lost and I have been trying to get ahold of the game. Some may know other may not but the original release of Puerto Rico 1897 back in October 2022, had missing coffee tiles, the text was missing from the buildings and the rules had several misprints.But I am happy to report that the issues have now been fixed and the game is just like I remember it. It is super fun and I would recommend it to anyone!

The game looks like it could be great, but the box did not come with an instruction booklet in English. We have two instruction books, however they are in French. I went through the process of requesting the rule book - and specifically asked for a printed copy of the rule book to be sent to me. Instead I received two pdf documents. If you're anything like us, when learning a game we CONSTANTLY and CONSISTENTLY refer back to the rules. Trying to find the right spot in the rules is difficult on a phone (too small). Now no one is responding to me to even acknowledge my request for a printed copy. If you read French - you'll be able to have two people clarifying rules to you. If you read English, I'd recommend moving on to something else.

My family loves this game. It's a little bit niche and difficult to find. This one is updated from the ones my sisters have and I was worried if it would be and play the same. It does, but in addition has an expansion. We haven't played some of the new buildings yet, but are excited to introduce that when we have more time to figure it out and play consistently. This is one of those more advanced games where you will feel like you have no idea what is going on the first time through, but is so fun after the first go. So many different strategies.

I wanted a heavier Euro game after playing every Carcassonne expansion. This game more than filled the void and boy is it a nice looking game as well. Mine didn't suffer from the misprint or miscount of pieces, but the box was beat up a little bit. But we didn't mind as long as the inside contents were fine. Can't wait to play again this weekend.

Played this with friends not long ago and had to have one for our family. I was excited to find this edition of the game, which includes four expansions.Fairly simple to learn, but with layers of strategy that make it very replayable. It does take a while, from 90 minutes to 2 hours, for a four player game, but it's time well spent.

Classic game. Not much needs to be said about this game. I’m writing this mainly to confirm that Amazon appears to be shipping out the corrected copies of the game. My copy purchased in February 2024 has the correct/updated building tiles with the text on them as well as the correct number of coffee tiles.

This edition is the first copy I have owned and played of the game and I love it. When I heard that the Strategy Cards from Twilight Imperium 3E were copied from this game, I knew I had to check it out. After reading the reviews of this edition I was aware of the defects, but I bought it anyway. I learned how to play the game from watching videos so I never read the rule book and as far as the misprinted coffee tiles I got the replacements in about a month and a black sharpie was enough to make do with until they arrived. When I look at pictures of the older editions and compare to this edition I like this one a whole lot more. The fact that the description on the building tiles has no text doesn't concern me as it really didn't take that time to learn what they did and really having a description printed on them instead of the superb artwork is like playing with a chess set with the movement instructions printed on the pieces. So once Ravensburg re releases the corrections to this version I would recommend it whole heatedly. I am still playing the version I got with all its defects and I love it.
