Works Amazing. Be sure to order the right temperature for your location. The shadows of trees will slow down the process. Still worked great but took a bit longer to crack. Real easy to use, be ready you have to work quickly. Starts to thicken up quick. We used it for ledge pokers in the grass. Worked on granite. Over all does what it’s supposed to do. Definitely recommend.

After drilling the holes and adding the Dexpan I let it work for a week. Everyday I would check it and notice cracks in the rock getting larger. It may take several applications for larger rocks.

A safe and effective way to break up rock. I had a troublesome piece of shale in my driveway. I was unable to use heavy equipment to remove it due to a buried cable nearby. I drilled a series of 1-inch holes, ten inches deep on an eight-inch grid (about 30 holes total) then filled with the Dexpan slurry. In 12 hours, the rock was completely shattered and easily removed by hand. I was able to use a funnel to fill the holes as the mixed product is about the consistency of pancake mix.

Not enough product for the price

I'm still geeking out over how well it worked! Okay, this has got to be the coolest purchase I ever made from Amazon. I uncovered this rock while cleaning out a section of my lawn for a new garden. It's not the biggest rock, but too much for me to move on my own. After considering wedges and a jack hammer, I came across this product on a blog - wish I could remember the name of the blog or find it in my history so I can give credit. I opted to give it a try because it sounded cool as all get out. AND IT IS! Follow the directions exactly. As other reviewers said, make sure to wear proper protection. The stuff is a fine powder. Also, make sure to leave any unused product that was mixed up away from anything. I set my half full bucket of prepared Dexpan aside for about 20 minutes while I was shoveling up more gravel - gravel is Satan's kidney stones - when I heard a pretty loud "POOF" and I noticed the Dexpan smoking. I guess it was curing in the bucket and had a blow out. Did the same thing a couple more times.

We needed to demo a very old and hard cinder block vertical wall that our 18v hammer drill wasn't touching. I think it just is not good for this application, and I'd suggest a pass to others for block walls. Although for the most part it was due to the hollow area in the cinder block, even where we were able to get drilling in the solid areas, the Dexpan just seem to dry out to fast. We kept trying to add water, isting it with hose poking small holes into it and drizzling in more water, but it was a fail for us. Had Dexpan had information advising against effectiveness on cinder block we would have passed, so 1 star lost for lack of application information on a very common wall type. 1 stars because of how fast it dried out and no instructions advising to pre-wet old/dry concrete. If you try this on another type of cement, I advise soaking the cement and holes a bit so it doesn't immediately suck all the water out of the dexpan. In the end we rented an 11 lb corded hammer that helped us with the job by targeting grout lines. A 20 lb rental would have sped it up in retrospect but it was so heavy we wet smaller. Our wall was maybe about 60-80 sq ft of block area. With the rental it took about 5 hour to knock out, one on the electric hammer and another swinging a small hammer once grout lines were broken up some (our local store was out of real sledge hammers, which additionally would have been a time saver). Tough jobs, wish you the best.

Replacing my old review. The stuff is incredible. Had a 12ftx10ftx10ft boulder in my yard. First pass I followed the directions with 1 1/2" holes had good success but took far too long to drill. Second pass I switched to a 3/4" bit and put the holes a little closer together. Bit cuts through the rock in a third of the time and I did about 40 holes in 6 hours. Cracks definitely took a lot longer to form compared to the 1 1/2" but once they did they were good. If you're not seeing results after a few days, wet down the dexpan again in the holes and let it reactivate. I always found new cracks after a week since the stuff just keeps working.

The product works but it’s not easy drilling holes and waiting. I would use it again but hope I never have to.

Used successfully to break up some large boulders in the garden. Did require some hard work to drill the holes to accept the grout but got there in the end.

Really impressed with the product considered I was skeptical. I had a fairly large granite Rock that I have been wanting to get rid of for years but it was much to heavy to move. Tried drilling holes in it, used a concrete saw to cut into it .. for the life of me I could not break it down into smaller pieceS due to its size. This product did what I couldn’t do within 24hrs. A little pricy but considering it resolve a long due problem for me worth every penny. Amazing and thank you for the great product. I showed my parents and friends and my dad has already purchased and used it on some large rocks at the cottage he wanted gone. Works there as well. MAKE sure to follow instructions exactly as described. In my cases I divided the volume into 3 so I gave myself 3 attempts to achieve what I needed since I had more than I needed for my rocks. It did the jump 1st time around... used a second batch to break down the rock even more... all I can saw is amazing :)

We expected to demolish the colomb fadter as show in the video but it give 10% only

I was skeptical on whether this product would work in breaking up a tire filled with 250lb of concrete reinforced with rebar. I only had a 1" bit (instructions called for 1.5") so I made my holes 6" apart instead of 1'. In about 12 hrs we had cracks and 24hrs it was ready to be smashed apart with a sludge hammer. Very impressive stuff.
