Brillint, gives mummy some peace and quiet
So the packaging is very attractive and definitely gets children's attention, the board itself looks very simple but fun and has space ships on with lots of bold/bright colours, the players are aliens which is great for children of both sees, my daughter loved that she could name her own character whatever she wanted, fab for children to have a little giggle before even starting the game, as you can imagine they come up with some funny and interesting names haa I love playing board games with my daughter even better that their educational and get her brain working, now with my little madam only being 3 this is aimed at slightly older children but she really enjoyed trying her best to add the numbers and find where she needs to be its especially great to get children of her age interested in doing maths and introducing them to fun ways of learning. The older children especially enjoyed this game and understood the instructions well and it's great that you get children can join in with their older siblings with a little help, I also love ANYTHING that means I get a little bit of peace for 5 minutes, anything that works gets 5 stars in my eyes haaa I love how this get gets their brains working and learning without them even realising they just think their playing a fun game... Brilliant

A starter game for the budding mathematician in your family, a nice blend of skill and luck is needed.
The media could not be loaded. OK yes on consideration I do rather like this game and think that it is quite clever. True it is a bit frustrating that the makers cannot spell Maths. I guess that it so suit the american market where they appear to think that there is only ever one mathematical tool that you need to learn....Basically the game is in many ways similar to that old favourite Snakes and Ladders except that you start of by subtracting you dice throws from your current position to work out where you end up and instead of a circuit layout the board is like a classic PC platform game. The target square though can be overshot and if you do overshoot it you then need to add your dice scores to your current position to get back up to the target. If your child has not yet mastered subtraction then can still count down position on their dice spin and then and bit of conversation will hopefully help them to grasp the concept of subtraction.Do read the booklet first and get your back story for the games basic scenario sorted out, this will add to the fun element. This was an instant hit with my 5 year old grandson....

Unlike a lot of the orchard toys range this game really is engaging and doesn't feel like "work" to the children
Very clever game which would appeal to a broad age and ability range. The numeracy skills necessary involve adding or subtracting a single digit number (0-9) to a two digit number (0-50). You could always use a number line if your child is only just beginning to add/subtract. Since each player has two "monsters" and can decide which to move on each turn the game can actually develop relatively sophisticated strategy if you want it to so would also appeal to older children who can add and subtract confidently. Unlike a lot of the orchard toys range this game really is engaging and doesn't feel like "work" to the children. My only criticism is that when you get to the end of the game in order to land your final piece on the lillypad" which was number 20 and win the game you have to get the exact number required which on a 10 sided dice will take an average of 10 goes. By this time it all gets a bit boring since it comes down to complete luck. The game would have been better if they're had been two or three "lillypad" numbers so you wouldn't have to spend five minutes throwing dice endlessly at the end of the game which gets boring.

Educational and fun maths game
Great game to help with Maths. My son struggled with counting down from one number to another so I made a numberline which helped. I did think it was a little on the expensive side for what was in the game but for a teaching aid for my son I didn’t mind getting it. The aliens don’t stay clipped together very well so had to tape them.

Excellent addition in the classroom
As a school teacher I am regularly looking for games to help keep children interested in their learning and engaged. When I saw this I couldn't wait for them to give it a go. This was perfect to play in a small group of children, it was relatively easy to understand and once they had been shown they were able to play this independently. It is a good game that helps children practise their addition and subtraction. They also loved the little monsters, which were the characters.I would recommend this game for those who need to brush up their addition and subtraction, or even those who just love board games. This will be used many times in the classroom I can see, as all other children wanted to give this a go.

Educational and fun !
My 7 year old granddaughter really enjoys playing this and it's fun for all the family. The level of maths calculations required means it probably wouldn't be suitable for a child under 6 years old.

Fun game, competitive and challenging without being off-putting
Involves a mixture of luck and strategy that is just right for the target age group. My 7 year old son loves the aliens, and the competitive nature of the game. You can bump your opponents back to the beginning, so it's a bit like snakes and ladders, but with skill and sums. You have to do a few maths calculations to work out the best moves and there's subtraction as well as addition, and I help my son out if he misses a trick. He asks me to play it a lot. Doesn't take too long to play either.

Perfect!
Perfect! Our going-on-7 year old daughter loves this game. Gorgeous illustrations with cute aliens she loves, and just enough complexity to keep it interesting time after time without losing sight of the main objective. A fantastic fun way to practise subtraction without her realising it!

My 4 y/o loves this game and so do I.
This is a simple, fun and quick to play math game that can be played 3 different ways. Focuses on single digit subtraction from 50 and less. Depending on the ages playing you may need to help them by breaking down the math so it’s easier to visualize in their heads, but I’m sure older kids can play this independently and will still have fun.

Excellent! Helped Prepare Our Son for 3rd Grade
Highly recommend this game. It is well-designed, fun, and easy to learn and play. The duration of each game is relatively short, around 10-15 minutes, so it is easy to fit in a round or two of this game. This game helped our son with subtraction, including with double digits. We ordered 4 games to brush up on math for school, and this was by far the best game.
