These magic candles are a great price and worth it. They come in a beautiful box with directions (that honestly couldn’t be written in smaller print but they do explain everything nicely). I’d say you need about an hour of quiet to do this. Don’t save it for the last minute. Each candle and the wand need a AAA battery. Positive side down pointing to the ground for candles and wand. Each candle has a fishing line type of string attached and it’s neatly looped and taped to keep it from tangling. It can’t be removed easily (I tried cutting, yanking, nope). But if you gently tug the string you can get plenty of line to unwind and just cut off the rest. If you’re a perfectionist and manage to get the tape off, I’m impressed, but I’m all about getting things done and moving on. You don’t need all that line anyway unless you are actually putting them up on the actual Howart’s great hall ceiling. Then there are two options to stick the candles to your ceiling. One is to tie the fishing line string to a thumbtack which I tried first but they did not penetrate my ceiling and folded down. (They’re white and nice to match most ceilings.) The other option is like a clear plastic hook thing you tie the line through. Then you peel backing off and stick it to your ceiling. To my utter surprise not a single one fell down. I hung them yesterday for today. The kids and adults liked turning the candles on and off all evening and tbh, I probably did it myself about 80 times since I hung them yesterday. They are fun and worth the effort. You just probably won’t think that while you’re doing the prep.

Easy to mount. They are two options that come with the box: 1) Tacks (which I didn’t want to use as it puts holes in my ceiling) 2) Adhesive eyelets (these are clear plastic and easy to mount. Just need to decide what length you want them to be. It comes with fishing line for hanging to avoid notice.) The wand that comes with it works very well. You need line of sight for it to work but it has a pretty decent range on it. Lots of fun to mutter “Lumos” and have them all illuminate at the same time. Wry satisfying.

Got these for my husband as a gift since he saw them on tiktok, he hung them up the same day. They’re very easy to put up, used clear thumb tacks since we have popcorn on our ceiling. We decided to leave them up all year since they produce good low light. The battery life isn’t too bad lasts a good while. The only thing is our wand stopped working and I wrote customer service to see if I could get a replacement or buy one but they haven’t responded. Can still use them but just have to manually turn each one off and on.

We love these candles. We hung them up for Halloween, but now we want them to stay through Christmas. It's just a really cool vibe having them. My 2 year old loves the wand and helps turn on/off the candles. If you have a tall person who can reach the ceiling then it doesn't take long to tack them up. It comes with both white tacks and sticky clear hooks. They already have the strings attached and when it first comes out of the box it had a piece of white tape bundling the string together. We didn't bother taking off the tape or cutting the string. My tall husband just kept the length of the bundled strings and tacked the white tape piece to the ceiling of our hallway. It was easy for him because he can reach it. If it was me I'd have to get a step stool or ladder and scoot my way down the hallway (which would have taken quite awhile to do). You need 13 AA batteries (for each candle plus the wand). Get a good quality battery so it lasts longer. I went super cheap and the batteries died after a few weeks.

These were fun for A Christmas, but we didn't get to reuse them. They ripped paint off my ceiling when I tried to get them down, so DO NOT use the stickers if you're worried about that. Tack them up instead. They also take a lot of batteries and drain the batteries fast. This was super fun while my kiddo was into Harry Potter but we won't use them again.
