Muir Glen Organic Tomato Sauce, 15 oz. (Pack of 12)

I want to start by saying that Every. Single. Can. I received was dented. I order canned foods all the time from Amazon and absolutely none get dented in transit- which leads me to believe that I received a very cheap highly discounted set of cans that were severely dented prior to shipment. Needless to say, I was not very happy. Shipment issues aside, though, I want to rate this product based purely on the product alone and not my experience having it shipped to me through Amazon. Muir Glen has always been a company I've admired. They offer quality, organic products at an affordable price. Along with Libby's, they are my go-to for canned veggies. I've ordered canned tomatoes from them before and been very impressed. I thought surely their sauce would also be a win. I wasn't wrong. This sauce is just that; organic tomatoe sauce. Pureed tomatoes. Pure, flavorful perfection. There's no doubting the fact that the tomatoes used in this sauce were picked in their prime- as the quality truly does stand apart in taste from any other tomato sauce on the market. Even big market sauce makers with awesome flavor combos (ehem, Prego) don't match up in taste to Muir Glen's simple tomato sauce. It's robust and delicious and adds the best tomato flavor to any dish. I've used this sauce to make tomato soup, spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, pizza, and marinara dipping sauce for breadsticks and mozzarella sticks. You can never go wrong with this sauce. It tastes delicious on any meal you put it on. I've been a long time user of Hunt's tomato sauce. They're great for my budget- but they don't even come close in competing to Muir Glen for flavor. They're worth the extra dollar; I promise you. And the fact they're organic? That just makes it all the better. No pesticides, no herbicides, no artificial fertilizers- no chemicals. I'm all about organic and I'm a fan of any company that can offer me a truly natural product. Muir Glen wins every time when it comes to canned tomato products and this sauce beats every other out there when it comes to flavor. I'm hoping my next shipment is not as dented; as our store doesn't carry Muir Glen and I'd really like to order these again. The quality of the product is fantastic! I just hope that my next batch comes in cans that are in much better shape.

It’s sweet, tangy, balanced, savory and makes a great marinara or pizza sauce. It’s better than Rao’s and a better price too, for budget-conscious buyers who want the best quality. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill, heavy tomato sauce. Your food will taste chef-life and I recommend this for Italian cooking if you want to impress those you cook for. Nothing but the best!

Mine arrived in perfect condition, 12 cans and not a scratch or dent among them. Muir Glen tomato sauce does have a little bit is added salt, garlic, and onion, though these flavors are not strong at all. But, nevertheless, this product might not be right for all applications. What Muir Glen doesn’t add is sugar. You may find that you need to add a bit of sugar to some recipes. What you don’t taste is any “canned” metallic flavor. The tomato flavor is excellent. There’s a clear reason why so many good cooks prefer Muir Glen canned tomato products. Some people object to canned anything just on principle. They want everything to be absolutely fresh. But the availability of fresh produce year-round is a very new thing. Many traditional recipes are actually written around canned ingredients. To get the authentic taste and experience, you need to use the correct ingredients. And that is sometimes canned stuff.

Since 2015, I have ordered this Glen Muir tomato sauce about 10 times with no dented shipments. I use my handheld can opener and never had a problem. I like the “no added sugar” in this product. It doesn’t need any! I also like that they peel the tomatoes, and I find no seeds. Many people recommend this method of processing tomatoes to make the best basic sauce. It has a smooth texture and has a wonderful tomato taste. This sauce is great for adding desired herbs and other fresh ingredients right from the garden to complete any recipe. I recommend Glen Muir tomato sauce.

We use this tomato sauce a lot because I just haven't found a decent recipe for homemade tomato sauce. This is organic and very tasty. Our whole family has enjoyed this with pasta, in a lasagna, and as a base for soup. I have cooked meatballs in this and it worked very nicely. Definitely recommend it. Be aware that with both shipments, we had several dented cans. I am aware that we are purchasing this product at a cheaper price than the normal grocery store, but if you are looking for perfect cans, you might not want to get this product. We very much enjoy the sauce.

Honestly I love this sauce and use it all of the time. It is lower in acidity than many others (at least for me) and with a few fresh additions (garlic, onion, pepper flakes etc) its great. Although its great on its own too!

It is the best, I love this brand. when I make scratch pasta sauce, this is the brand I use, especially the diced with green peppers and basil. Once I mine the garlic up, and simmer it in the olive oil just before the minced garlic turns toasty it has this aroma the secret of good pasta spaghetti sauce, and then I add the can of diced tomatoes by Muir Brand and then a can of their paste, water stir and add the rest of the seasonings. This is the best brand to me. I also use in it in the blender for sauce and spices when I make home made pizza Naples style. Best ever tomatoes in a can. Definitely recommend.

Love this stuff! Will always keep it on hand. Has the best taste of all the organic sauces I've tried, and it's just pure tomato sauce, doctor it from there as you wish.
