The Samsung 990 PRO 4TB with the built-in heatsink was a huge storage upgrade in my Rog Xbox Ally X. Installation was simple, and the heatsink fits perfectly without blocking anything in the motherboard. Performance-wise, this SSD is extremely fast. I considered using a microSD card instead of this but the the microSD card won’t support AAA games. With this SSD card I have installed multiple AAA games and still have storage room for installing future games. Extremely happy with the investment. The best part is the temperature control. Thanks to the built-in heatsink, the drive stays cool even during long gaming sessions. I haven’t had any thermal throttling or drops in speed. If you need lots of space and top performance for gaming handheld Rog Xbox Ally X—this SSD is definitely worth it. It’s one of the best upgrades. The random read and write speeds are significantly faster than the 980 PRO, which helps with 3D modeling and data analysis. Installed this SSD in my PS5 and it just works exactly as advertised. Physical install took literally 3-4 minutes (unscrew the cover, slot it in, screw it down). No issues at all. My son plays a lot on his PlayStation Pro 5 He downloads a lot of games, and he's looking for better speed and storage performance I can tell you with all my heart that since I bought the Samsung SSD 990 PRO Everything flies faster at a really high speed, waiting times have decreased significantly And of course the big advantage is that there is an extra 2 TB of space for many more games!! It's very worth the money in my opinion for those who often play a lot Super easy installation You take off the Sony cover and insert the memory into its designated area and secure it with a screw that's already inside the device, after that you turn on the PlayStation and format the SSD and that's it! Very simple and very successful! Enjoy!

Great compatibility for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Easy to install. Remove back panel, remove screw on storage plate, remove screw with spacer and move over, install SSD, tighten screw with spacer - just enough, don't crank it down - place storage cover plate back on and screw in place, replace back panel...that's it - takes like a minute or so...maybe 2 minutes if you take your time). Playstion will automatically recognize it and prompts you to format it (which only takes seconds). That's it. It does transfer quickly... everything is a breeze. If it's on sale - you definitely got a great value. To be honest, it's actually overkill for the PS5, but that's better than being not enough. It should be quick enough regarding it's specs to last to the next generation of equipment at least (at least as a bare minimum...I'm sure it's fine for long time in compatibility - it's high end now - so it should be relevant for a long while). Having a heat sink is always a huge plus. You won't have any worries about having an "iffy" SSD memory situation here. This Samsung SSD has better specs than the most popular Western Digital SSD (not that it really matters since it's overkill as I said, but it's worth pointing out that technically this one is better). Unless this item is at full price, id certainly recommend or re-buy it (not that it isn't worth the MSRP, it's just not necessary...there would be better deals with other products at that point). Just get it. It's about as good as it gets (as of writing this anyway).

bought the 990 Pro with the heatsink, but it ended up not fitting my laptop. The drive itself looks great and feels high-quality, but the heatsink is just too thick for certain laptop models. If you’re getting this for a laptop, make sure to double-check the clearance first. I’m sure it works great in desktops, but it didn’t work out for me.
