A really good steam cleaner but like all steam cleaners has its limitations
I have had many steam cleaners before including another Polti model. This one is by far the best one I have had. It is easier to use than most and cleans better too. However, the plastic handle does not inspire confidence and Polti should have made that rather more substantial. Yes, the white plastic locking tabs on the wand can fall off when unlocked but are easily put back into place. However, the biggest drawback, as with all steam cleaners is the over-expectation of some users. They will not clean your carpet. They will deodorise it and therefore are great if a pet (or a young child) has an accident. They will get your grout nice and clean, with a little work. They will clean most hard surfaces really well but you may need to do some scrubbing with one of the brushes provided.More importantly, they are a reasonably green way to clean. No oil is used in endless bottles of cleaner, no lorries carrying heavy and therefore environmentally damaging (more energy used in the transport) of countless bottles of cleaning products, no yards of warehousing and shopping space being heated to store and sell bottles of cleaner. No nasty chemicals either in your home or when disposed of, in the environment. This is my favourite steam cleaner to date. I do think it is a little overpriced at the full price but often discounted.I would recommend this model but before you buy, think about the cleaning jobs you want it to do for you and are you going to get your money's worth. For me, as a sort of eco-warrior (hate plastic packaging and also the waste of shops selling hundreds of similar products), I think it is worth the money but your needs and desires may be different from mine.

Surprisingly good
Very good - bought to clean the stone floors of a large farmhouse - and now used for all sorts of cleaning jobs - does the wooden floors as well. My only negative is the poxy handle on the water tank lid - a bloke with dry fingers hasn't a chance of opening it - I have to use pliers to grip the damn thing with. Overall - a very good investment. Dont bother trying to clean carpets or furniture though - use a proper carpet cleaner. This is mainly for hard surfaces, and does a good job.

Don’t buy!
I was really excited about the arrival of this Polti Vaporetto steamer today. I owned a similar Polti steamer a few years ago and was delighted with it. It was a sturdy, simply to operate, treasure. I wore it out after a few years, and have several cheap steamers currently. Needing to do a spring clean, I treated myself to this model. What a cheap nasty lump of plastic! The water fill cap simply sits on top of the hole one would normally have that screwed in surely? After reading ALL the instructions, and a lot of fiddling, finally the steam dribbled out, then shot out in a blast! Back to the instructions, took a piece of the extension ‘stick’ out, and started again! It’s now SIX hours after delivery, I have spent the entire afternoon trying to clean the splashback on my hob. I have given up, it is clearly faulty. The steam only comes out if I hold up the hose at a particular angle. This machine is so badly made, I could literally just throw it in the bin. No idea how those ‘great’ feedbacks came to be written? I understand they have been paid/asked to write the reviews, but these are clearly some form of fraud. I order from Amazon frequently and rely on the honesty of feedback. Having owned many many domestic appliances, and currently have 4 steamers albeit cheap models, I was expecting quality and at least the steamer to work by issuing a strong jet of steam. Now I have to put this ‘broken/faulty/rubbishy machine back into a box, which has 5 separate pieces of cardboard to match up. I wish I could upload a film of how badly this functions. You can probably tell how irritated I am to have wasted hours on a machine that is below par, and will have to waste more returning it! Don’t buy this machine, it does not do ‘what it says on the tin’ or anywhere else either on the advert or reviews !

Excellent
I previously had the Polti Vaporetto Smart 100_B which was very good but unfortunately you can't get spare parts for it so I had to replace it with this model in casevi needed to replace parts.

Not fit for purpose
Just bought this and I have spent many hours trying to get it to work! thought it was me not setting it up properly as there is lots of steam coming from the hose insert into the machine. The result is that there is very little steam generated at the output end. Called Polti And was told that a bit of Vaseline or washing up liquid along rim of the hose insertion tube might help it to go in as far as it should for a tight fit. however this has not worked and I’m wondering if I should even bother wasting my time for a replacement!

Very Happy with Machine
This machine does a very good job, very happy with it. I particularly like the way the lengths of the tube can be changed for each mode of use i.e. for when you are using it as a floor mop or as a hand held cleaner. The only mark down is the little plastic pieces that lock the lengths of tube. They are very flimsy, come off fairly easily, so I suspect in time they will go missing...
