JPS Hebrew-English TANAKH

I bought this because I wanted to keep up with my Biblical Hebrew, and having the English translation side-by-side would motivate me to read the Hebrew Bible for my quiet time without the hassle of having to constantly look up a separate English Bible. I like it that the font size is fairly large (I think bigger than the BHS), although this does mean that it is quite heavy to carry around. I like it that there are some footnotes as well as showing the ketiv/qere. I highly recommend this for those who are learning Biblical Hebrew!

This is exactly what I was looking for: The most academically sound translation of the Tanakh! It has everything you'll be looking for: The Hebrew text, the English text, numerous footnotes, everything. You can't get much better than JPS's work! Strongly recommend for anyone: Hebrew learners, English religious folk, or simply someone interested in the most impactful book in world history. Thanks much!

A very heavy book, top quality too.

Please be aware that to get the larger Student edition, you need to select the "Imitation Leather" option. If you select paperback, you will get the small pocket edition!!! The larger student edition is excellent, and make life much easier for the serious Torah student. Good size font, and regular translation notes.

I'm really not sure what else can say not already said before. This is a really nice publication of the Tanakh, perfect for studying scripture and at a very fair price in my opinion.

Its great for studying

I like the challenge to read backwards different saying in some cases with the buy

English and hebrew Tanakh. Very useful, good to read

This translation in this crucial verse is mischievous, misleading, dishonest. The ones doing it commited sin for the sake of political correctness. "Tolerate" is a false and mischievious word to hide the real meaning which is "witches shall not live" or "you won't allow a witch to live" מכשפה לא תחיה

Squeezed oranges.

Well, I've just started reading this version and definitely it's good. I needed one Hebrew - English Bible. The word which is written inside is most important. If you're learning Hebrew then go for it.. i would suggest they can improve the page quality, I mean the letters on other side of page are visible that's doesn't good. Overall it's good.

I am a new learner of Hebrew which is God's original language to His chosen people. I am very glad of the layout and prints of this Tanakh.

Quality edition to be able to read in English and see the Hebrew translation.
