Just like some men Iโve known: rich and thick!
Excellent quality tomatoes which have been crushed rather than โ the more usual โ chopped. As a result the contents are thick and smooth, not the more familiar lumps of tomato swimming in a watery bath of thin tomato juice that needs to be heavily reduced before using a bless youโre adding it to a slow cooker dish and are happy to have the extra liquid. These are different. The contents barely need more than a stir and youโve got a perfectly thick ragu ready to use on its own as a pizza topping or to add to other dishes. The flavour is also excellent. deep and rich unlike most tinned tomatoes which I find very acidic and which need to be heavily reduced in a good splash of olive oil over a high heat until they begin to caramelise slightly and change colour. Tip: skip the spoonful of sugar hack to reduce acidity. (I, for one, can always taste when sugar has been added to a tomato-based sauce and find it rather unpleasant.) Instead itโs well worth taking 20 minutes or so to really reduce any tinned tomatoes before using them, even these. (They respond wonderfully and result is deeply rich.) ,) The trick is to take the time, keep stirring, and donโt be afraid of the heat: give it some welly! If I have time I like to reduce the tomato pulp almost to a paste that is beginning to separate from the oil, the natural sugars in the tomato having slightly caramelised in the heat, and is taking on a deep, almost burgundy, red colour. Then I just add whatever liquid โ stock, wine or just plain water โ I need to cook the dish. I know it sounds a faff just for the family midweek spag Bol, but you can be doing it while you boil the pasta water and cook it. (I find it quite soothing and stress reducing any way, and if a were an organised sort of person โ Iโm so not! โ Iโd cook a big batch one time then freeze portions to simply chuck into whatever soup or sauce or casserole I was making.) If you can give your toms this little bit of extra care youโll find it not only reduces any sharpness. leaving just a touch to offset the richness, but also gives your sauce the kind of depth and richness you can pass off to guests as having been slowly reducing in the oven for hours, just like your imaginary Italian great aunt used to do. Back to these particular tinned tomatoes, if all the above seems altogether too much and all you want to do is chuck a tin of toms in your sauce youโll find these already have a much deeper, less acidic, more flavourful and thick consistency than the average tin of chopped tomatoes. But if you can find the time and energy to follow my advice youโll be rewarded with the most deliciously rich and tomato-y sauce youโve ever had. More expensive? Sure. A bit. But in my view well worth it. You are getting so much more tomato for your money. I reckon if you have a recipe that normally uses two tins of chopped tomatoes you could probably use just one of these. And if, like me, youโve always found making shakshuka(sp?) disappointingly thin and watery, try making it with these: a revelation!

Worth the extra money by far!
These are easily the best tinned tomatoes I have used and they get a definite five stars from me. The quality is noticeably better than standard supermarket brands. They have a rich, vibrant red colour and a naturally sweet taste that means I rarely have to add any sugar to my sauces. Because they are finely chopped, they break down perfectly and create a smooth, thick consistency for pasta sauces, soups, as well as my home made pizzas!! You can really tell they use high quality sun ripened tomatoes because there is no metallic aftertaste and very little water in the tin. They are a bit more expensive than basic tins but the difference in flavour is well worth the extra cost. They have become a permanent staple in my kitchen cupboard and something that I consistently purchase from Amazon.

Excellent product
In my opinion the best tinned tomatoes on the market. The flavour and consistency are excellent. I have used the tomatoes without any extra seasoning on pasta and the flavour was excellent. The tomatoes taste fresh and sweet unlike any other tins that I have tried . Wouldn't use anything else. The other Mutti products are also highly recommended

Definitely my 'go-to' chopped tinned tomatoes
Mutti chopped tomatoes are handsโdown the best tinned tomatoes Iโve tried. They taste premium, rich and full of flavour, without that sour aftertaste you get from other brands. They make such a difference in sauces, curries and pasta dishes. My only wish is that they offered an organic version โ that would make them perfect. Still, absolutely worth buying for the quality alone, especially when on offer, it's way cheaper than buying from supermarket.

Use these to make unctuous sauces, you won't go back to other brands
These are just amazing chopped tomatoes which don't have the aftertaste of the other tomatoes I used to buy. Premium tomatoes result in unctuous sauces which are rich, velvety and intensely flavourful. I would highly recommend these.
