Rubbermaid Flex and Seal Cereal Keeper, 1.5 Gallon, BPA-Free, Clear with Red Lid, Airtight

I was concerned by some of the low reviews saying the label was difficult to remove. Some others mentioned the plastic smell also. I'm not good at removing labels, I barely have enough fingernail to get them started. I literally had it off, with a tiny 1-2 cm spot, in under 2 minutes. That came right off with power wash, the dish soap not a power washer lol. While it did have a bit of a strong plastic off gassing smell when first opened, it went away after washing and letting it sit for a bit to air dry. It really was not anything unexpected. The lid works well and isn't difficult to close. Some mentioned it falls off. I don't doubt that it could possibly if you've got some dense cereal and shake it really hard, it could have enough force to spill. I would not advise holding with two hand totally upside down and shaking like a jack hammer. Hopefully that is descriptive enough and makes sense. It cleans up really easily as well, not a bunch of books and crannies you can't get to with a standard brush or sponge. I got this container for two reasons. I live in an apartment and want to keep things sealed up to not start a bug problem. I also kept getting so irritated trying to pour cereal from the increasingly structuraly unsound boxes. The dang bag was sliding out and crushing up all my bran flakes trying to shake them out while keeping the bag in. Plus it scratched that itch to buy something. (So maybe 3 reasons).

These do the job storing cereal. They are large enough to hold an entire bag of cereal from one of those double bag packages from the big box store (20.35 oz.) Pressing down on the lid pushes out a little bit of air, creating a vacuum seal. I am confident this will keep the cereal fresh and keep out any critters. I highly recommend these.

This is the second one that I bought and they are great quality and keep moisture out. Perfect for cereal, oatmeal or anything else that needs to be in an air tight container!

This is a really nice container, but it struggles to work smoothly with a cereal like raisin bran. The large flakes jam up in the opening and you have to shake it vigorously to get it to pour. Works fine with other cereals that are smaller. And I like the large size of it.

I already have one of these I bought over 7 years ago, and it still is in great condition. I needed another one because I use them to hold cereal. (I like to mix two kinds of cereal together). I buy in bulk at the big box stores and the cereal comes with two bags in a box; this container holds one whole bag perfectly, making it convenient to access when needed. Very Happy with my purchase and Highly Recommend it.

Container is perfect for a family size cereal box. My only complaint is that the label doesn’t come off completely.

read a negative review about "smelly plastic", and more than one review complaining about difficulty with removal of the product label. I must say that as someone who has dealt with adhesive adhering to recyclable pharmaceutical bottles, I was pleasantly surprised at the minimal amount of adhesive that I easily removed with...wait for it... RUBBING alcohol! Yes, folks... RUBBING is included in the name of this antiseptic, a poisonous substance that everyone should have in their first aid supplies! I don't want to use anything else to remove residue, as alcohol is absolutely safe on the skin...so safe, it is used on broken skin! 😆 And as far as the claim of, "smelly plastic "? I didn't think this container had much of an odor, at all! 🤔🧐 The product itself is a high quality, thick plastic, reminiscent of other high quality Rubbermaid containers, apart from some of their portable food containers. It will work excellent to house the organic granola for which I bought it.

are you serious that i just bought this and when pouring the lid doesn’t stay open properly - when i try for replacement or return i’m not allowed finally got onto amazon chat and they fixed it by refunding immediately and let me keep the container without having to send back, so well happy with that but it was a lot of work when constantly going in circles saying not a refund or replacement item Rubbermaid - please let us know before ordering anything that’s going to be such a huge hassle, i would presume Amazon are acting on your orders anyway, not a good experience for me and maybe i was just unlucky to get a dodgy container but thankfully amazon people helped more than rubbermaid so probably stay away from ordering their stuff online - shame really as usually your product are good but expensive

This is one of the best cereal keepers that I have purchased. It holds a large box of cereal and the cereal keeper easily fits in kitchen lazy-Sudan. I was happy to find it and knew this was the one I definitely wanted to purchase.

Recomiendo ampliamente! Son de muy bien tamaño. Le cabe muy bien una caja de ceriales. Si Recomiendo lavarlos y secarlos ya que si huelen mucho a plastico. A mi en lo personal me sirvieron mucho porque tengo niños que al intentar abrir la bolsa de cereal, lo hacian de la manera incorrecta y derramaban mucho el cereal. Con estos ya no tengo ese problema. Son muy facial de usar y la tapa sella perfectamente. Muy contenta con este producto! ❤️
