Its battery powered and portable
Mile Marker 71-1000 Rhino Pull 1000 Portable Electric Winch You will want a second battery. Also you can get a separate charging base directly from MM by calling and ordering. This device needs to be redesigned it is lacking in many ways but its still the best on the market for now. I hope they redesign it to get the battery off the bottom, to have a way to release the rope if the battery dies or to feed rope out fast. It just seems a little rushed in construction and design.

Awkward functionality and design most likely will return.
For clarification, your remote is wired; the wireless is optional. How is it practical to have the battery charge on the unit? and having you disconnect the wired remote control from the unit every time charging is required, since the charger uses the same remote control connector!. I was planning to install this on an 8-9 9-foot ceiling on a rail, swapping the remote and charger (and a battery if you get an extra one) makes this very awkward. I'm considering returning the unit. I purchased this unit because it's quiet and has the battery options, but all I can say now is it's kind of quiet.

Portable Winch did the job very well.
I really like the portability, it is not that heavy, especially since it uses a synthetic rope. It worked as expected, and it was easy to set the wireless remote. I think it could be improved by having a neutral leaver, so that the rope can be pulled out manually. Also, it would be nice if you didn't't have to install the battery in the winch to charge it. I would like to charge two batteries at the same time. I don't think a stand alone charger is available?

It'll Pull Heavy Stuff. But ehhh
I run a Junk Removal business and use this to pull tractors, pianos, or anything crazy heavy onto the trailer. Which works great for. Has pulled anything I've hooked to it.. Now the reason I gave it a 3 star is because it doesn't have a release to just pull the cable out... it takes like 5 minutes to unwind the thing cause you have to pull on it the whole time while pressing the unwind button. With that being said, it is a VERY slow wind up too. Takes forever to bring it back in. Now, the last reason I gave it a 3 star. The battery. It will last the time it takes to get the object in but doesn't last too much longer than that. And you have to charge the battery with the battery in the winch. Also, the winch doesn't just turn off with no use. Itll drain the battery if you leave it on.

Powerful and perfect for Tuna fishing
This winch is perfect for pulling massive tuna onto the boat. Worth every penny. Used it on two 450+ lbs tunas this season with no issues.

Product is good but it arrived with an American power plug, not Australian considering I bought it from Amazon Australia.
