I used these stilts for a circus performer Halloween costume. On only the lowest setting they provided impressive height that helped us win in our local costume contest. I like that they can be used for future painting and repair projects as well. The straps were secure, though the leg strap is uncomfortable if directly on the calf so padding or snug clothing underneath make it better. They take some practice to walk in, but after just an hour or so my son was able to walk with a normal gait and carefully go down a step or two. By Halloween a week later he walked in large crowds and went up and down stairs to a stage, though a parent was always close by with a hand to steady him if needed. Other family members didn't take to it as naturally but still improved with practice.

I haven't owned a pair before but always wanted one. These assembled quickly and seemed to be reasonably well-engineered. I was able to assemble them and get up on them pretty quickly. I will say that 24" is pretty big for beginners. I'm too tall to use them inside the house as I hit my head on the ceiling. I wish they had a smaller height for me to learn with before "stepping up" to the higher setting. I'll be ready to tackle that popcorn soon, but not in my house as they are too tall for me here. They work great in the garage.
