Never used ear drops before - any suggestions for Spray vs. Drop? for dry, itchy ear, that makes noise when one tilts head?! Thank you.

Hi,  I have had dry itchy ears for a number of years now and tried loads of different types of sprays and drops, even from my GP, but I sorry to say nothing has worked. I now just use two drops of olive oil every morning to lubricate the ears, which does help.  So to answer, did the otosan work, NO, it didn't, what it did do was make me almost totally deaf in both ears.  This lead me to believe I had a lot of wax, so I bought otex ear drops with an ear syringe. The otex didn't remove any wax. I then saw some drops by canesten, called canesten solution, which id for fungal ear infections. Thinking my dry flaking ears may be caused by a fungal infection I bought some. It hasn't cured my dryness but it removed a considerable amount of wax together with the syringing. I tell you this as I think you may have ear wax, due to your noise when you tilt the head, and this is by far the best solution for clearing it.  If ears are blocked they can't breath, this can cause dry ears, so it maybe your cure. My problem is psoriasis, which can't be cured, so that's why I just use olive oil daily now.  I hope this helps. As for sprays, they are far easier to use than drops as you get a properly measure dose in each single spray so there's no worry about having to much or to little in the dropper. I did not know this, but my GP once recommended almond oil drops for keeping the outer ear canal moist and treating excess wax. Olive oil seems to be the favoured treatment now.

How long can you use the drops once opened?

I CANNOT SAY CATEGORICALLY BUT I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT AT LEAST 6 MONTHS AGO AND USE IT ONCE A MONTH TO PREVENT HAVING TO HAVE MY EARS SYRINGED.  I SUGGEST YOU CONTACT THE MAKERS OF THE PRODUCT.

Is it ok to keep some oil in ear after use ? Or I need to dry the inner ear? Will the oil accumulate inside?

Put the oil on a cotton fiock and put in ear some minutes it's the best.
