According to my wife, these are “beyond awesome!”
She had them opened up and was trying them out the minute they came. She says this is a really great set. They’re stored securely in individual foam rubber sections inside a sturdy wooden case that has two metal latches on the front. Each stick is a nice size and is wrapped in paper so they’re easy to hold without getting any on your hands. A color chart is provided on the back of the cardboard sleeve. She was using a knife to scrape off bits of dust, which she then spread around and blended using cotton balls. If you look at the picture of the sheet where she tested some of the colors, on the left edge you’ll see the names of the colors she used and that they were applied with a knife, then spread and blended with a cotton ball. Along the right edge, the colors on the top half were applied by rubbing the block on the paper, then spreading and blending them with a cotton ball and the colors at the bottom half of that edge were applied with a knife. In case you can’t read her writing, (me neither) the colors used at the left were yellow, yellow orange, orange and cadmium red. On the right she used azure and sky at the top, then neon watermelon and vermilion at the lower part of that edge. Once she got to the middle, she was just trying colors and didn’t stop to mark down the names. (I think she was having too much fun trying them out to even think of it). The paper she tried time on is Exact Vellum Bristol. She said they were very easy to work with and that it took only light scraping to get a nice amount of chalk dust on the paper. She also said they spread smoothly and blended beautifully. The price is extremely reasonable for a set this nice, with such a large selection of unique and interesting colors and the sturdy storage case. My wife said she couldn’t be happier with them.

Nice quality budget pastels
I'm new to pastels, but I thought this set was pretty nice to experiment with before committing to a more expensive pro set. The 80 piece set has a nice color variety, and I was able to make several paintings right away. I don't have the correct paper yet, so there is some more dust than I would like, however that might be my fault. The sticks are soft and velvety yet they seem durable and the box is nice. Happy with them.

Inexpensive quality pastels
I want to preface my review by saying that I am new to pastels. I started working seriously with pan pastels on 1/1/26 (before that I was just using them to with polymer clay) and got curious about the stick soft pastels after watching several artists and ordered this set. I enjoy working with these more than the pan pastels. I find these to be rather smooth. I broke them in half to use them as I wanted to keep the labels so I know the color (which probably won't matter in the end). They came well packaged in a very lovely box that latches that has a color swatch so you can see the colors, numbers, and names. None came broken. They blend well and I really love all the different colors and shades. There are 18 greens, 20 blues, and 6 purples/magentas, which were the colors I was most interested in (yes, there are yellows, oranges, reds, browns, black, and white too). There are a wide selection of neutrals and values. My pic is using these pastels on 98 lb. Canson Mi-Tientes paper right after I got these in late January 2026. These soft pastels run about in the middle of the soft to hard spectrum - maybe a smidge more to the hard side of the line. In comparing them to other pastels I've tried...none really are the same type. I've used the Prismacolor Premier NuPastel but the NuPastels are firm while these are softer and they really serve 2 different purposes as far as I can tell. The Blicks I have tried are in between the NuPastels and these as far as softness/hardness. I can't really compare them to the pan pastels because, again, they work differently and have different application techniques. They are firmer than Sennelier extra soft. Artist Susan Jenkins reviewed them and recommended these as budget friendly quality pastels "for artists of any level." I think that $60 for 100 sticks that I like is a pretty good deal. Take my review as a total newbie as you like. Now go create something!

This is a gorgeous set
I probably shouldn't really write a review until I figure out how fugitive the colors are, But they do claim these are made with pigments (as opposed to dyes) and that they are fade resistant..... And because of the amazing quality of the box that these came in I'm going to trust them that they believe in quality😁 yeah the box is really actually good quality! I'm not a pastel artist and my experience with them is limited, so 100 colors is a lot, But my set of 30 limits me so much. This set has all my favorite colors Like with all chalk pastels I found some of them more creamy than others, some were downright crumbly, and some smeared on like butter but for the most part the texture was consistent. They're really really bright and beautiful colors. If they look as pretty in a couple years on paper as they do in their box right now I will consider this more than worth it ❤️
