EASY TO INSTALL AND WORKS WELL
This is a fantastic gadget which is very easy to use. It works on a normal light switch and turns the switch on and off according to preset times by means of a small wheel/cog powered by standard AA batteries. It allows you to time a main light to turn on and off when you are out avoiding the need to plug in a lamp. A much better idea, especially if you have pets that could knock a lamp over. You can easily override the timer by pushing an on/off switch on the unit. It is installed simply by slipping a plastic cradle over a light switch and the placing the timer unit in the cradle with the cog wheel lined up with the switch. The unit can stay in place continuously or be removed if desired. It does make a whirring noise turning the switch on and off but it is only a second or so of noise. There are 9 separate programme opportunities over 7 days allowing almost any combinations of timings on different days. There is also a random function which turns the light on in the night at random times for about 3 minutes each time. This is useful if you are away as it mimics someone getting up in the middle of the night for a comfort break. I would suggest not using this feature if you are at home otherwise the noise might disturb you. The unit can be adjusted to move 1, 2 or 3 cogs at the same time depending on how many rocker switches are on the light control.

Works for me
They work for me . Use them on single switch and a double switch with the only problem being the fitting needing all the spacers provided.

Great product for outside lights
This is the second one of these I have purchased as the previous one has finally given up the ghost after about 8-9 years use. It is ideal if you come home late & your outside lights are on. They can be operated manually or on the timer which is reassuring if you are away from home. Quite tricky to initially program but once you get your head around it, it makes good sense. There is YouTube videos to help with this.

Easy to set up and use - no wiring required.
This was recommended by a friend and I'm so pleased they did. This comes in two parts, a back plate and a timer that fits inside it, the timer is run on 2 AA batteries, so no wiring required. The back plate fits over existing wall switches, you just need to loosen the switch plate and pop the devise over it then tighten the switch plate up again. You can programme this several ways to come on, and go off, at different times of the day. It works by a wheel coming down over the switch, to switch the light on, and the wheel going up, to switch the lights off - brilliant! It is so easy. The best thing is, you have peace of mind that the timer will come on and go off, when you are away, giving the presence that you are still at home.

Brilliant idea and easy to install
Such a simple idea to tackle switching on and off your house lighting whilst your away on holiday or any length of time your not at home, without having to mess with any wiring.Just slacken off your room wall switch via the two screws and slide a bracket between the wall and the switch in the gap you have made, tighten back up and your done.Install two AA batteries into the timer, programme the timer and then just slide the timer into the bracket you have mounted behind the wall switch and that’s it.Note switch must be of the modern rocker type and must have a thickness to it, not the ultra modern flush fit, otherwise the timer on off mechanism will not reach the rocker. Please note ours was the correct type, but the timer still didn’t reach the rocker on our switch enough, so the manufacturer has put two extra spacers in with the switch for which you can use in conjunction with the bracket, which allows the switch to stick out from the wall a touch more so as the mechanism then reaches the rocker to allow it to switch it on and off it’s just trial and error to see which works correctly for you. It’s for the use on switches with either 1,2 or 3 rockers only, there are 3 activating wheels on the mechanism, you can remove any number of them from the sliding mechanism so the timer only trips the rocker you want it on and misses the others,Note it doesn’t switch the rockers alternatively for different times, it slides down and will trip all the switches at the same time, It’s up to you to remove the individual activating wheels and leave just the ones you need the timer to trip.Important point if you are using this timer whilst you are at home to switch certain lighting on and off in your home and it’s while you are asleep, IT WILL WAKE YOU UP the motor that moves the mechanism over the switch rocker is EXTREMELY NOISY.I noticed on a couple of reviews they mentioned the timer will lose its programming when replacing batteries, I tried this out and the timer we have stays programmed, so there shouldn’t be an issue, there is a reset hole on the front, if you need to change the main time ie to or from British summer time etc, use a straitened out paper clip for this and note there is no micro switch click when doing this so be careful you almost just have to touch the plate inside with very little pressure and you will see the time reset to 12.00.The on off programming you can alter without doing any of the above.

Broke after less than 4 months, but...
So I bought this in January and fitted it fairly easily. It switched on and off each day as it should and I liked it, but then it suddenly stopped working after less than 4 months of use. When removed from the light switch to see what was wrong with it, the little plastic bit inside that forces the light switch on and off had just snapped off. So I messaged the seller to inform them and was asked to send pictures of my light switch, which I did, and I was told it was incompatible. I thought my light switches were standard but apparently the one I was using was a 70's light switch and the wrong depth. I couldn't see the difference myself looking at the images of what light switches worked, but they were very prompt to respond to me and decided to give me a refund. I am pleased to have the refund but would rather have had a working timer. I think the idea is good, it just needs to be more robust and more clear as to which light switches it works with. Hopefully they will consider a metal one or stronger material in the future as I would like to have one that works in the long term. So in purchasing this item, do study the images of what switches this timer works with.
