Would recommend!
Bought this for bf who is currently learning Russian from scratch, as a fluent speaker of the language the book was straight to the point and easily understandable to anyone no matter what skills of Russian they may hold. Book is filled with everyday items/things, contains the picture of the item and Russian word for it, right under there is the exact same Russian word but in English letters.Contains also, colours, numbers, body, clothes, opposites, alphabet and much more.

Perfect for a four year old trilingual chief
Our four year-old son is trilingual and we are continuing to find ways to maintain his Russian. This book has hit the spot. The pictures help endlessly and not only does he enjoy pointing them out, he is at the age where he is able to identify (proudly!) that he know the difference between the words as different languages themselves. Once that hurdle is made, then they really start to enjoy knowing more than one language.

Engaging book. Don't like transliterations.
I personally dont like transliteration. It is distracting. You cannot learn the Russian letters with that there. If you want to learn a language, learn its alphabet. Transliteration is not the language, it's a visually different word, and doesnt help someone learn it.I will cover the transliterations with tape because then i can learn faster. In this interesting book, there's a big central picture that's very very busy and this is surrounded by the individual items labelled. It's just a word list by pictures, that relate to the big central picture. But it's very engaging and useful for these random words. You do learn them by looking. The pictures are interesting and engaging.I will keep it, because it's a good reference book and enjoyable to look at.

Encourage learning for a child interested in Russian
I speak to my customers in Russian so my 7 year old picked up on that during lockdown and showed interest in this language. The book is nicely illustrated and focuses on useful vocabulary. Easy to use. Comes with phonic sounds under each word. Would recommend it for a child.

Useful and easy to use
I bought this as a Christmas present for my son as I am teaching him to speak Russian and German. I already have the same book in German. This is simpler to use as it shows the words in Russian but also how they are pronounced. Great start for learning words, but not grammar or phrases. Recommend

Would recommend alongside 20 easy stories for beginners.
This is really fun. Really a kids book but is fine for adults learning. I would probably recommend buying it alongside the 'easy Russian stories' book... '20 easy stories for beginners'. Ideal for an absolute beginner. I have placed post its all around the house with words found in this book, slightly annoying for housemates :-) but really quite useful!
