Does this remove brown algae?

I use this product by adding it to the final stage of my filter. I monitor water parameters in my tank weekly including phosphate and change the PhosGuard roughly every three months or if the phosphate level starts to rise. My aquarium has plants and I add plant food daily plus I have CO2 injection. The tank has LED lighting which ramp up, on full for around six hours then ramp down. With this regime I do not get algae issues any more, plants are healthy and the fish seem happy.

Can i just leave it in the tank instead of inside the filter

I do when it is required as I do not have a filter.

Can this be used in the fluval u3 filter thanks

I used it to clean up my fluval fx6 which was badly contaminated with algae but it needed a massive clean out a few days later to remove all the dead algae from the filters and pipes that was in the tank and filter system
