Don't try to save a few pennies on the "Made in USA" knockoff
These Dimex stakes are far stronger than the bulk bag that looks like the same thing from another company. I tried those first, and a full quarter of the stakes broke off; they also bend too much. I have heavy, compacted clay soil and those stakes were just not up for the job, even with pre-wetting. These Dimex stakes all worked without breaking, and they can even be pulled out if you hit a rock or root as long as you have something to grab the head with. Having installed about 140 feet of this no-dig edging, I found that it's best to stop pounding when encountering resistance from the soil (from compaction, not roots), then wait for a rain (or water) before finishing them off. Because it gets so hot here in Georgia in the summer, I decided to go on and put a stake every other hole, so I needed a lot of extra stakes. Another tip: use a metal tent stake to test your hole before trying to drive in a plastic stake. This way, if you encounter an immovable object, you can either pound on through it (if a small root) or at least know that particular place is not a good candidate for a stake...at least not without digging out whatever the obstruction is.

Expensive, but the best
Lucky for me, I've learned more than I'd like about the various landscape spikes out there. For a plastic spike, these are the Rolls Royce of the bunch and you can't do any better. They do not flex and the heads do not break off, and they securely anchor the edging we were using into the ground.Unfortunately, they also cost significantly more than any other spike available, but you almost cannot do without them. Doing several hundred feet of edging, we did find a way to cut some costs though.Every few feet we used these spikes in the landscape edging to get everything about how we wanted. Then we went back with a big box of the cheaper ones (the do have issues with the heads breaking off and bending, but you get double for half the price) and used them to secure everything down. They don't work as well, but with the Dimex doing most of the work we haven't had any issues.

I Just Keep Buying More.....
I have purchased this item twice now and i wish I had written a review the first time around. This product is super simple to install. The first purchase I used this for setting landscaping edging for mulched in area in the front of the house. It was easy enough in standard soil to just hand push these in. The second time using these I used for paver edging, so I was going to be pounding these through a crushed stone base. Again for most I was able to hand push these in, while a few required the use of a rubber mallet. The holding strength on these is exceptional and if you do need to remove it requires a bit of pulling, but still pretty easy to do. Both times I purchased the 144 case at 69.99 from Amazon, which I feel is a great value for the quantity and the cost per spike. It drops the per spike rate to at about 50 cents a spike. There are number of similar option available but at a much higher cost per spike. I would not pay over the 50 cent per spike rate on these. I have enough uses, maybe not now, but soon enough that it is worth buying in the larger quantity. These are good for staking down other items as well. I have tried some big box store methods of staking and none have matched these and at the price they are available here. I would continue to buy these in the 144 quantity as need arises if the pricing remained @ $69.99 Great value, great product.

They're stakes, but they are also plastic, and not cheap
I recently chose to refurb a few patio areas around my house which involved removing some existing edging and replacing it. That meant digging up the old edging, re-leveling the area, then installing the new stuff. Proactively I purchased a 100 ft continuous roll of Dymex edging, which came with a bunch of these, but I also elected to buy more just to have. Note that I believe with their edging they *estimate* you'll put one every 4 feet or so, which is laughably few, so you'll wind up needing more stakes if you want the edging to keep the form you install it at.To my surprise when pulling out the old edging, the stakes used then (16 years ago), while a bit corroded, were still somewhat usable. I re-used some of them when installing the new edging. By the time I was through about 3/4 of the 100 ft roll, I had run out of the included stakes PLUS this pack. I wound up using a stake every other hole in the edging which I would say is every 4" or so.For the last 25 feet or so (different section of patio), not wanting to wait for another order of these to come in, I just went down to the hardware store and bought landscaping timber stakes - basically 8" long gigantic nails, similar to what I pulled out of the ground.I'll say that while the nylon versions are pretty stiff, they are still plastic. If you happen to graze a stone or root int he dirt, the plastic versions will simply "bounce" and flatten the tip. Not a single one of the metal stakes I used did that, and it also felt like they "grabbed" more while pounding in - that is, I could tell they would hold the edging better by how much force it took to hammer them into the ground. If I were to do it again, I'd just get a megapack of the landscape timber stakes - even purchasing singles the price per stake was about the same as this (58 cents/ea). If I wanted to buy 100 they would be even cheaper. So what if they rust? I'll tell you what - the old edging was VERY difficult to remove - I have a feeling that the corrosion actually helps the spikes grip the ground better, too.

Love the spikes
Love the spikes, you absolutely need extras, as you don't get enough in the box that comes with the edging. PROBLEM: I only bought one box, which wasn't enough. Came back to order another box and this seller limits only 1 box per buyer. Makes no sense, I'm buying their edging, why would they not want to ensure that I have a nice application and am pleased? Only extra spikes will give you that, otherwise your ground is perfectly level, the edging will not stay flat

Brutal
These simply do not hold up. Purchased to avoid going out to the store during COVID-19 and 70% of the tops have broken off during installation leaving sharp stakes protruding from my edge restraints. Save your time and a headache, just buy the Sakrete version from Home Depot and call it a day.

used for landscape railroad ties
drilled a recess for the spike cap then drilled the hole.Have put in 20 so far and none of the caps cracked.I have used others not a strong. Cheaper than steel spikesthe railroad ties are staying in place even after being nudged by the garden tractor

Very good product
I had reading some reviews that some people had trouble with the heads breaking off. I used a rubber mallet and never had any problems. They are very sturdy.

Not for what we needed
We returned these but..My husband says this was a good product and sturdy. He ordered this thinking this was metal but it was nylon so he returned it. He says would fit more for camping or something like that

Strong
These are great quality. I’ve not had any break. I used a rubber mallet. I’ve used these for edging but also to secure 1.5” rubber mulch mats. Works perfectly. I was worried the plastic would be flimsy, but it’s not - very secure.Would definitely recommend and buy again
