Victorinox Pocket Knife Spartan 13603T7 Silver Transparent

I have several Victorinox Swiss Army knives and this is the one I carry in my pocket always. It's so useful for a variety of things that I use it several times a day. Note that it IS fully legal to carry in the UK as the blade doesn't lock and is less than three inches long - as long as you don't use it inappropriately. (Some of the other bigger ones don't meet those criteria and would be illegal to have on your person 'out & about'.) I love the way it looks - really smart & modern and a great alternative to the traditional red style. (It does tarnish a little with use, but that is to be expected.) It's a perfect size for the pocket - has just enough tools for frequent/quick use but without what you don't really need (for me anyway). I mean, who ever really uses scissors or wood saws on the bigger version anyway? (Those tools are really too small to be functional on a knife this size anyway.) I tend to use the small blade for everyday/dirty cutting (opening boxes, cutting string, sharpening pencils etc.) and save the large blade as my 'clean' blade used mostly for food prep on picnics etc. Everyone is different, but there are always more uses to find with this tool. A couple of less well know uses I have discovered are: using the protruding top of the large blade while it is 'away' as a sturdy screwdriver (more purchase than using the actual screwdriver); using the corkscrew tip to unpick knots in string, using the tweezers (squeezed together) to access sunken down small screws that the main tool can't reach. I love this tool and carry it always. If you want a small and handy Swiss Army Knife that looks good, functions well and is from a trusted and reliable maker then this is it IMO. Just don't make the mistake I did and forget it is in your pocket until you get to airport security! (Had to re-purchase this more than once.)

This is a truly first class pocket knife. It is very well made and the blades a very sharp. It can open bottles, cans and also be a screwdriver. I purchased it for my 15 year old grandson hoping he would like the the way it looked. He is very pleased with it. Which made me happy.

Fantastic little knife (of the highest quality, of course!). The transparent design was a good move by Victorinox, it refreshes the range and looks good (without cheapening) If you can live without scissors and the wood saw, this is ideal. Makes a good gift too.

Ich habe früher Taschenmesser gesammelt und besitze schon einige Modelle von Victorinox. Das Spartan ist nun mein täglicher Begleiter. Die Schwierigkeit bei der Auswahl liegt oft darin, dass möglichst viele Funktionen praktisch sind, aber ein Taschenmesser für die Hosentasche unangenehm dick machen. So besitze ich von der Silver Tech Serie auch das Huntsman-Messer, welches auch sehr gut ist, sich aufgrund der Abmessungen aber besser für den Rucksack eignet. Das Spartan-Messer ist optisch sehr schön und die Qualität ist wie seit Jahren von Victorinox gewohnt. Wenn ich mir ein perfektes Victorinox-Messer für meine Zwecke wünschen könnte, wäre es ein Spartan mit zusätzlich einer Schere und einem Kreuzschraubenzieher statt der Ahle. Damit wäre es wohl immer noch geringfügig dünner als das Huntsman. Ich habe mein Messer noch mit einem Mini-Schraubenzieher aufgewertet, der in den Korkenzieher eingeschraubt wird. Damit kann man die Funktionalität noch etwas erhöhen. Leider sind diese Mini-Schraubenzieher nicht als Kreuzschraubenzieher erhältlich, aber damit kann ich leben. Ein ganz kleiner Kritikpunkt ist noch der Zahnstocher, der vielleicht in einer schöneren Farbe gehalten sein könnte. Z.B. in Schwarz wäre er immer noch gut von der Pinzette zu unterscheiden.
