HOMCOM Bicycle Trailer Cargo Jogger Stroller with Towing Bar in Black

I searched the internet extensively to make a choice of cycle trailer. There are so many, in a wide range of prices and customer reviews , so it was a tricky decision to home in on this one. It arrived on time with all parts and simple instructions. The steel pressed spanner and allen key you should ignore and get a ratchet spanner, a phiilips screwdriver and some grease ( or vaseline) to protect water entering for the wheel hubs. Whenever I assemble something that will see the light of day and some rain I will spray WD40 on all the bolts etc. The residue makes it easier to adjust them later and to avoid corrosion in a few years time. The trailer is well made. Another customer was critical of the welding, citing the fact that two welds had holes. These holes are there to prevent condensate build up within the tubular frame and are placed equidistant at the least critical weld points in the frame - so full marks for engineering design! Assembly is intuitive and the tow bar fixing to the bike stem simple and effective. Just make sure that the fixing clamp that holds the male connector for the tow bar sprung clutch is set with enough space under the saddle to reach and press the orange coloured clutch to detach the tow bar. ( Look at my photos) Attaching ( by pushing on) and detaching the trailer is easy. The plastic container is very strong - I sat on it to assemble the frame and it did not distort at all and I am close to 17 Stone in weight! The tyres pump up easily once you have made sure the pump connector is fully tightened to the valve stem but its hard work using a sports type pump. They are small tyres so it does not take much to get them hard enough - I gauged them to 40 lbs. The cover is excellent quality and fits exactly. I am so delighted with this trailer - all that research was worth it! I recommend it to anyone who wants a robust, smart and simple bike trailer.

Took a chance and it paid off. I my options are quite limited because one of the bikes I might use it on has non-standard rear axle so I needed one that could attach to the seat post not the rear axle. This was the only one available for sale with the size and type I wanted. It's really good. Bigger than I expected as well. I use it as a shopping trolley around the supermarket. I wasn't using a car much in the town, it's now eliminated all my town car use. One thing that would be useful to get is a taller box that fits it. I used the box it came in for a bit but need something plastic. It's good enough for my shopping but a large weekly family shop might be an issue for it in terms of size if not weight. I've heard some stuff about low quality trailers but this is very strong and sturdy, the waterproof cover works exceptionally well. The frame is very sturdy, the connector is really good. Having the spring so it slightly bends seems to do a lot of good in keeping it smooth. The only thing that vaguely concerned me when I got it was the plastic wheels but they seem to be really common on this sort of thing, and are fine and sturdy and I can't see an issue with them if used properly. My hope is looking at them if it ever does come to it they should be replaceable. And frankly if that's part of the price for it being £70-80 instead of £170-180 it's worth it. The one other thing is how much weight it's made to carry. It's either 40kg or 50kg or maybe 60kg. Amazon says 40kg. The box I believe said 50kg and the instruction manual said 60kg (or vice versa I forget now) and that inconsistency is not good.

This trailer is great quality, but is let down by some questionable fittings. Assembling the trailer was 'fairly' easy, the only drawback was the bolts used for attaching the upright to the trailer itself. The top bolt fits easily with all three washers in place. The bottom bolt, however is a different story. The bottom bolt, being the same size as the upper one, just won't fit if you try using all of the included washers. It needs to be at least 5mm longer as there is more metal for the bolt to pass through than the top one has. Also, on a similar issue, attaching the securing lug onto your bike may, as it was with mine, be a problem if you have a more robust design (one using a thicker frame). I needed to replace the included bolts completely to make it fit. With all that in mind, if you have a few spare 3cm x 10mm bolts, I love this trailer. Yes, it took me half an hour to assemble (with a scrape to my wrist and hunting down the two replacement bolts), but actually putting it together was simple. The finished trailer is sturdy and will carry about 40Kg in the included plastic box (unfortunately it cannot be closed and only comes with a cloth cover).

This is a great bit of kit! Like some of the other reviewers, we have an allotment and although it’s only a few minutes’ walk away, we often end up using the car to get there if we have tools or stuff to carry up there. Well not any more! This little beauty gives us the option to ditch the car, and cycle instead! It’s dead easy to put together, very very sturdy, and surprisingly easy to haul despite the loads it will take. The two parts of the tow bar need to be bolted together very firmly otherwise there’s a bit of play in it, which probably doesn’t matter, but I was super paranoid the first time I used it. I’d recommend having a test ride first with little or no load in the back to get used to it, as some of the sensations (and noises!) can be quite disconcerting, but you’ll soon feel confident. It can feel and sound quite bouncy, especially if your local roads are anything like ours. The load carrying capacity is pretty amazing, and I love that the plastic tray is removable. This proved especially useful when some brewery waste that I was hauling to the allotment leaked everywhere, and I had to swill it out. Gross. Yesterday I hauled 30kg of bricks in the trailer, and although it required a little more knee work than usual it wasn’t too difficult - and my journey involves a hill. The little flip-down trailer rest can be a little tricky to operate with one hand, whilst you stabilise your bike, but it works really well and is a nice feature. One thing that might take some getting used to is the sheer number of reflectors that this thing comes with!! Be aware that you will probably get them caught on door frames, gates, trousers, bushes, small children, gnomes etc as you move around, and they’re the only non sturdy part of the trailer. I haven’t broken any yet, but it’s only a matter of time! I love that the trailer has the towing bar with handles, as this makes it easy to get it into position to be hitched, and also means that it can be used as a hand barrow for hauling stuff around. I think it will be replacing our wheelbarrow at home for shifting stuff around. It’s a very smart looking bit of kit. Very well made, and great fun to use. I love it!

Brought this to transport bulky power tool cases. It runs very well and was simple to assemble. I spent some time and weeded out all the little rattles and stuff, I used bits of flat rubber in the metal to metal connections. Until today. It hadn't been used for 3 days. Tires were pumped up to 36psi (confirmed with 2 separate devices) the trailer was at the side of my house not in any direct sunlight or even with it resting on the tires with nothing on it at all. Not even a hot day, my right tire inner tube exploded. Gun shot loud. People came out of there houses to see what had happened and me, mum and her friend left their seats. I have started contact and will edit with the result. Edit: I have been in contact with them and they have been extremely helpful and understanding. They provided me with the means to get it repaired. I'll be leaving the 5 star review up because they deserve 10.

I purchased this trailer after looking through multiple different listings trying to work out which one was the best for me, and I decided on this one, and i'm just going to say that i believe i made the right choice! so as far as putting it together goes, it was relatively simple, it comes with a little booklet with 2-3 different languages in it that shows you how to put it together, but its not needed at all, its pretty intuitive to put together even without the booklet it comes with a TON of reflectors, the bolts on the reflectors are pretty loose to start with so i recommend tightening those up if you want to use them, just not TOO tight or you'll tear through the plastic a bit, which i did but easy fix with some washers as for how it feels to tow around? its actually not bad, as long as you aren't going like 15+MPH there should be no issue with it toppling while empty, i've tried riding around with it empy and it rattles a bit, so as someone else said, some bungee cords are very useful for that! it is odd at first pulling the 10kg's behind you but you get used to it very quickly, uphill you notice it the most but even then it gets easier. i don't recommend hitting any potholes at any speed full or empty, it does jump around a bit, but that's to be expected if ur speeding along and u hit a hole. overall its been a godsend for me, lil miffed that the day AFTER I bought it they reduced the price by like £20, but still worth it regardless. I refuse to learn to drive and have needed a way to get weekly shopping done with the bicycle, and this has allowed me to do that with ease! it carries so much stuff i've also had no issues with people letting me in shops with it, nobody is bothered, its a tiny bit smaller than a trolley when pushing it around so people don't mind, at least here where I am. will also allow me to get some other shopping things sorted, gardening, and taking some things down the local tip that need to be gone that nobody will help with!

I ordered this so that I could cycle to the beach with a small picnic table and four small chairs making a total weight of less than 10 kilos, which is a quarter of the limit of 40 kilos. The first time I used it, all was well. The second time I used it, the trailer disconnected when riding over a speed bump and from then on would not stay attached - the spring loaded connector had bent when the trailer disconnected and does not catch properly. The trailer itself is really good, but the build quality of the connector is very unsafe. If this had happened at speed or on a busy road, I would have caused a road accident.

Edit: I originally liked this trailer for lots of reasons, but I ended up getting rid of it because of persistent exploding inner tubes. Basically the supplied tyres don't fit the rims properly, so the tubes squeeze out and burst. I'm an experienced cyclist and I tried a full range of tyre pressures, to no avail. Better tyres might have solved the issue, but those are expensive compared to the cost of the trailer, and I wasn't willing to take the risk. A shame. ------------------------------------------------- This is a great product for the money. It’s sturdy, easy to tow, and big enough to be useful for lots of tasks. Capacity of the plastic box is about 65 litres (internal dimensions 58 x 39 x 29 cm). My main concern is with the bearings and the wheel mounting system. The supplied wheels are perfectly OK, and fine for shopping trips, but the bearings probably aren’t the best and I don’t think you would want to go touring with this trailer. Servicing the hubs or replacing the wheels could be difficult, and I think that’s an issue given that many people who use a bike trailer are probably concerned about sustainability. On the other hand, a branded trailer from a bike shop will cost anything from £150 to £300+, and trailers are not so easy to find in the UK. The quick-release mechanism that connects the trailer to the bike seatpost works well, but looks like another point of failure in the long term. The steel frame is robust, and if anything breaks it would be easy to fix by welding. There’s plenty of room on the rear bar for extra lights. The leg that keeps the trailer horizontal when it’s not on the bike is a bit clunky, but works OK. The plastic box is very good. The fabric cover is tough and fits well. A bit of cardboard or carpet in the bottom of the box may help to reduce rattles, but be prepared for some noise on all but the smoothest tarmac unless your load is well strapped down. Storage requires quite a bit of space if you leave the towbar attached. Removing and refitting the towbar is easier if you secure the joint between the two parts of the tube with some kind of quick-release nut instead of the supplied locknut. Note that although the seat clamp bolts are metric (M8), the frame assembly bolts have a different thread. There’s plenty of clearance if your bike already has a rear rack with lights and reflectors at the back. This was one of my concerns before buying. The seatpost clamp is big and clunky, and definitely doesn’t fit a 32 mm seatpost: the bolts are too short and the curvature of the bracket is wrong. For a thicker seatpost you’ll need longer M8 bolts, taking care not to pinch the seatpost. The clamp needs to be fitted fairly close up under the saddle, otherwise you may find it brushing the inside of your thighs. As everyone says, the instructions are poor but you can easily figure out how to assemble everything from looking at a photo. Basic tools are included (11 mm spanner and hex wrenches of 4 and 6 mm). An 11 mm socket wrench is useful, and a crosshead screwdriver for the reflectors. Assembly apart from the reflectors is a 20-minute job. Add extra time if you have to find new bolts for the seatpost clamp. The 16-inch wheels have Schraeder valves and run at 35-50 psi. Clearance from the hub is a bit tight, so your pump needs a fairly compact head.
