This is a quality product and well packaged too.
I was looking at getting a really good Lavalier mic to use with a decent field recorder. There are some very nice mics out there like the Tram TR50 and the Countryman B6 but I loved the sound of this and the price seemed reasonable. The Quality is very good in my opinion, having used it for V.O. work and for mainly short films. I always use a shotgun mic too so I guess this is useful for long distance shots (wireless setup), I know it won't beat a decent shotgun mic on its own but when you use it with a shotgun mic it works very well. Also ideal for insurance with your dialogue incase the boom operator makes a mistake while cueing the talent etc. Overall I really like this lav mic, it has a nice quality sound to it. It may be slightly inferior to the Sanken Cos11D but that's harder to get hold of this side of the Atlantic and comes at a greater cost. The clips are decent enough too as are the windshield/furry that comes with it. The RODE in my opinion beats most of the other competition. Thats not to say the others were bad. just this was really good. I think these RODE mics will start appearing in many a sound recordist kit bag. The ability to change the adaptor end is so very very useful. After testing a few pro mics i'd say overall its the best for this price range. But remember not all mics do the same job, other mics might be better in certain situations. Still this is a decent one to own for sure.

Hissing noise when connected to rode wireless go II
Hissing noise when connected to rode wireless go II. Had the same issue when previously used with a zoom recorded but I the time I thought it was the recorders mic input that was faulty. It’s when I recently used it with rodes own wireless go II mic it dawned on me that it’s the lavalier itself that is faulty. Huge let down as I thought I purchased a premium product. I’ve had it a while but barely used it so it would be difficult to return.

It's ok
Be cautious. The case is tough, but it pinched the wire when it closed and broke the mic. Easily done. Quality of mic is fine, you may need a mi-con apapter. Works well with Zoom H1. Now have a broken mic :(

Great lavalier, updated design?
I bought this to replace a 3 year old Rode Lavalier that had become faulty due of what I think was a design error with the older version. The connector sleeves weren't durable enough to withstand a lot of use, and the wires would eventually come loose, breaking the connection with no easy fix.Thankfully this version must be a newer design, as the connections are moulded plastic and seem more durable than the original. So far so good!Rode also don't mention that to allow this to work with XLR connectors you need to purchase a MICON-5 adapter (which should be included really) so bear this in mind.Sound quality from these lavaliers is superb, which is the reason we ordered again despite the issues we had. Clear, clean audio when paired with a good quality recorder (we use a TASCAM DR-60D MKII). We use them for a range of uses, from studio work to outdoor work with the supplied windcheaters. They are omni-directional so expect to hear everything, even the quietest of sounds. The case they come in is durable and hard wearing, and the accessories (apart from the MICON-5 adaptor) are fine.

Beautifully round sound.
I'm delighted with this microphone. The sound is round, clear and with an excellent dynamic range. No noise at all... which isn't always the case with Rode mics.

Don't expect to be able to use this out of the box...
Comes in a fancy box with not everything you require to be able to use it...Fair enough if you could easily buy the required adapters, but walk into a professional music shop or electronic components store and ask them for help? Not a clue.... never seen a connector like it.Massive waste of time.Come on RODE, people need to be able to connect their Mic out of the box...The metal clip also broke from the microphone almost immediately, so build quality is poor. The sound quality was probably excellent, except as I could not secure it well due to the broken clip, I battled with rustle of clothing.

Amazing lapel mic
Amazing lapel mic. Note that you will need an adapter to plug it into your equipment - for XLR devices, you'll need this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003ZDX3DA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_6.
