LG's game changer brings them back into the fight for best flagship
I purchased this phone in time for Christmas, however received a slightly faulty model so requested a refund and had the money in my amazon account the next day a few hours after i sent the phone back. Still intended to purchase a working LG G5 so reordered and (since I was on my 30 day free amazon prime trial) it arrived the next day! The seller's customer service was excellent, no quarrels and helped me through the process as it was my first time refunding an order of this caliber. The new device works perfectly, the camera is outstanding (in love with the wide angled lens), the phone itself runs as fast and lag-free as any rival flagship of 2016, if not faster, thanks to its powerful snapdragon 820 processor. Due to ingenuity (it's modular!) and consistency, I would wish for no other phone at time of writing (apart from maybe the Google Pixel, but who can afford that?) plus cost around £100 less than the iphone 6s or galaxy s7, the G5's main competition. 9/10 highly recommend, probably best phone I've ever owned - missed out on the big 10 simply due to relative short battery life compared with the likes of samsung or sony, still gets you through the day mind you, also quickly extended by popping in a spare battery costing £30 from LG, effectively doubling your battery power to 5600mAh, ~2000mAh more than the S7's beast of a battery. To sum up, if you're reading this and still umming and ahing whether to get the G5 or the S7, Sony X, Huawei p9, iPhone 6s or other, just buy this and save £100+, you won't regret it (last thing! The LG G6 is to be unveiled in February 2017, so the price of the G5 will only decrease from then on) Thanks for reading, hope this helped those of you unsure what phone to get! :)

Poorly made,ain't no flagship,get a LG V10 instead of this rubbish----->Updated.
Right all I'm gona say is I own the G3 and the G4 and the G5 is poorly built compared to these phones which for long term use simply doesn't cut it.My G5 arrived in the afternoon around 6 and at first I was impressed as I unboxed it and set it up and mine mated up really well where the battery joins the body and at first I thought I had got a good one,boy was I wrong....By 11 that night the power button had become loose and tacky and the finger print scanner failed to work completely and this in only it's first night, really LG how can you make a phone this poorly made??? Anyways mine is now going back to Amazon for a full refund and if you do a search the power button being loose is a common problem and so once I get my refund I may go to the HTC m10 cause they know how to build a proper phone,I had the HTC m7 and m8 and m9 and they never let me down they was built like tanks.Sorry LG but for this money your phone should last longer than a night before it breaks,it ain't no flagship and so if you is reading this I'd say seriously don't bother cause for long term use this phone won't last....Edit,I have now got a LG V10 from clove uk and it's far superior to the G5 and the v10 is far better built and just as fast as the G5 and the battery life is just as good also so I'd say get yourself a V10 instead and yes you won't be officially supported by LG in the UK because the V10 is a import but clove would honour the warranty anyways.Updated2---,Since this review I had to send the LG V10 back as it became faulty and I then got myself a HTC 10 which I used for 5 months before getting myself another G5 from argos which has been working brilliantly and it seems LG have sorted the build quality issues out so I would recommend now the G5 and mine had the nougat update and it's running great also. It's a very good smartphone with the added bonus of the removable battery.

Amazing phone but.......
This is hands down the best phone ive ever had except one little annoyance (more on that later) im going to write this review the way my manager fives feedback like a turd sandwich so some good, some bad and finish with some good, so you can go away feeling happy, so it is a pretty large and colourful screen with gorilla glass so its quite tough and durable, call quality is excellent it runs marshmellow by far the beat androis os to date, it has 4gb of ram and 32gb of storage enough for anyone and any game you want to through at it the g5 also has the latest quadcore cpu trust me when i say this phone will distroy most home pcs in spec except the higher end models, some bad now the phone comes with no app draw so you have download a 3rd party one or you can download googles from thw app store, the screen is bright but USELESS is direct sun light leaving you running for shade, but by far the biggest bug bare is the battery life, shocking isnt the word, i woke up at 05:50 not touches my phone until now to write some reviews at 06:50 now 07:16 and im on 83% ill get to work in london at 08:45 and ill be around 65% so you need to carry your charger or a spare battery as this phone is modular, how-ever all is not lost lg have gone with the usb-c chatging option which allows 60% charge in just 30 mins and a full charge in 1hr uaing there charger which is included plus you get evernote for free.

DON'T BUY THIS UGLY MOBILE PHONE!
I had LG G2 and G3 and I really like them. I decided to buy new mobile and LG G5 was a natural choice. When I got the new LG G5 I was very disappointed about the UGLY back design. The back is NOT flat and the two cameras are bold. but the worst is that LG has moved the volume buttons from the back to the (left) side. That is less comfortable. On my old G2 and G3 phone the volume buttons are on the BACK which is genius. LG has made big mistake and changed the volume buttons position.Second problem is the G5 is modular - why is the problem? because there is a BIG gap between the phone and the bottom cover. It is UGLY.On my old LG G2 I could not remove the battery, but it was not a problem at all. LG has to increase the mAh from 2,800mAh to more than 3000mAh instead to give the option to remove the battery. But if they really want to give us the option to remove the battery (that is useful sometimes), why not from the back, like G3? I do NOT care about LG Friends! I need a mobile phone - not friends!! which most of them are gimmicks.Because the modular option the mobile doesn't feel premium, but looks and feel defect :(The CPU, The screen are amazing! The Android 6 is very nice, but has nothing to do with LG.- Design - ugly. (back - looks like face of an alien. Front - much better but the bottom cover makes huge gap)+ All the rest - Good or Excellent. Conclusion:If the design is important to you = PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS UGLY MOBILE PHONE!

Excellent phone LG G5 BUT be CAREFUL with battery catch
I love this phone. It is everything I wanted. I will NOT buy a phone with a sealed-in battery. This LG G5 is the only top-end phone I think with replaceable batteries. But, the battery 'lugs' (on the battery) can and in my case did BREAK the phones battery retention catch within 24 hours of this phone arriving, destroying it. Maybe a nail file should be used to make the lugs more rounded rather than 'L' shaped. I was gutted! I followed the instruction to the letter. Fortunately Amazon immediately refunded the phone and I ordered an identical one. I am SO pleased with it. But please PLEASE be SO SO careful removing the battery. I think I will leave it in the phone til the battery is old and only then remove the battery once ever. I even looked at the internet teardown x-ray image of the retention catch as I could not believe it snapped. You MUST remove the battery in the direction indicated (as I did but it still broke). Please don't take this as a negative review as there is so much that is right about this phone and surely LG must look at their manufacturing as an ongoing process? I did remove the battery on the this new one 8 times on day one to be sure it wouldn't break. It sounded and felt as if it would break, but it didn't. But I don't really trust the mechanism. Frankly, LG should put some publicity out, that they are aware there was (?) an issue but it is fixed, as this problem could affect sales. Others on internet forums have spoken of the phone breaking when removing the battery. But all said, I would buy LG G5 again and recommend it as an excellent phone whose battery can be replaced after 18mth - 2 yrs. So hopefully a long life ahead. I do worry though that if I swapped the battery every time it was flat that the phone might only last a fortnight! 5 stars nevertheless.

Good phone but bad customer service
I have had this phone for a little over 1 months and I want to say that it works very well. It suits all my needs as a power-user. I have only given it 3 stars because I woke up one morning to see that the camera protection was shattered. I've read about this issue and there has been several users complaining about the fact that with a bit of pressure from the finger the rear-camera protection cracked. I reported it to LG (to use the warranty) over a week ago and haven't gotten any reply. I am going on vacation soon and I don't even have a camera now. I am sorry It deserves at least 4 star but this basic issue with the rear camera protection glass and the POOR customer service comes with the phone.

Swiss army knife of a phone
Brilliant phone. The camera is really impressive and the processing power. The fingerprint reader is useful however I find it annoying when using a wallet case - its not a natural place for a button centre back...The screen glass could be a little more robust too - mine is scratched already and I'm absolutely militant about looking after my belongings. The audio from the speaker isn't very good, being positioned at the bottom in landscape mode viewing video the sound is off to the edge, not good for listening - also, easily distorts. The display is absolutely fantastic - deep colours, however in reviews it states its one of the brightest around. This is true at full brightness - where you won't want to be if you want the battery not to drain quickly - however at other settings the display is quite dim, it seems non-linear in this respect. The memory capacity is incredible - lots of built in memory and an SD card make this something you need not worry about.Overall a really fast, quality device with loads of storage and a brilliant camera (especially wide-angle mode).

Classy well designed phone
The LG G5 is a lovely, efficient well-built classy phone which handles all the nearly 400 apps I have placed on it. I am really pretty happy with it and it is arguably the best phone I have ever had and at a decent price too.I do have 2 drawbacks to mention, firstly the battery life is just as curtailed as all other high end phones I have tried, running out during the afternoon unless topped up. In part this is due to background apps not closing, despite requesting they close, they then re-open. However, with Quick Charging mains charger and Quick Charging external battery pack, that is not a major issue. The other drawback is its wifi connection to UK 5G broadband routers, such as the recent VirginMedia hubs, is only at about half the speed other phones can reach e.g. on a 153 Mb service my Galaxy S5 reaches 150 Mb but the LG G5 only about 70 - 80 Mb download speed. By the way, that is for this UK model. Earlier I briefly had a non-UK version of the LG G5 and that one did not even see the 5G network and so connected around 30 Mb to the 2G output, so I had to return that one as operating below standard.Immediately before I was running an LG G4 now nearly 2 years old and that started overheating and switching off to protect itself on trips using SatNav, especially when charging. Hopefully this LG G5 won't do that - I have an extended trip next week and will update if any problem occurs with the G5.But for now, two weeks into using it, I can only summarise by saying this LG G5 is so nice!!!

Dommage.
