Great product, well worth the money
I bought this recently as I suspect blood pressure issues and wanted a decent product. After some digging around I was really drawn to this one but felt the price was too high. But as you cant put a price on health I went for it. Product arrived promptly and was extremely well packed. Assembling was extremely easy and in a matter of minutes I was able to take and store my first reading. I love how much capacity this has and you can connect it to your machine should you need to back up the data even more. The box comes with a CD but my laptop doesn't have a CD drive. I reckon you'd be able to download the software from Omrom's website and then take it from there.Really what I love about this is the speed and simplicity. It takes 1-2 minutes to assemble and get a reading. The storage back it comes with is perfectly compact and keeps the machine nice and clean. Just make sure you follow instructions well to get the most accurate readings.I'm handing this over to someone who needs it more than me now as luckily all my fears turned out to be false thanks to this. Buy it if in doubt, well worth the money for peace of mind.

Omron BPM
Brought this BPM even though we had an Omron that is about 20yrs old and still working. This version has the ability to upload its readings to a program on a PC which is important to me as i want to be able to manipulate the data. It works well and is fairly accurate when compared with a traditional Sphygmomanometer. I also purchased the bigger cuff but found that the cuff that came with the machine was ok. I also found that for me, the bigger cuff increased my BP reading, very odd. It doesn't seem to have a function to distinguish between users, unless someone knows different, meaning that if i take anyone else's BP with the machine then it can't distinguish when it uploads.(hence 4 stars and not 5). Oddly the software supports several users?? Its fully automatic meaning that you just fit the cuff and press the button. It's easy to upload to the Omron program on computer and you can view the data in different ways. I also liked the ability to detect irregular heartbeat. Like another user i also have the Omron pedometer that down loads info to the same piece of software. I like the ability to have the info on a PC and realise you have to pay for this functionality. All in all a great BPM even if it is a tad on the expensive side.

If you want the best.....
A very good machine which works well. The arm cuff is robust and the display is easy to read.Just 2 reservations: the pc software is a rather basic- you can only get one type and one size of graph and the machine seems a bit power hungry so the batteries don't last very long. The memory function is brilliant as is 'guest' mode which prevents other peoples readings being added to your own data.

Essential Accessory for medics and ambulance personnel
This monitor coupled with the purchase of the large cuff is an essential piece of kit for medical personnel it is very portable and accurate (which is essential). Good value for money and if you have your own equipment you have to be sure it works as it is supposed to!!! this one does very impressed. Also the ease that you can download the data to a computer and keep accurate records is wonderful plus it enables you to get print outs at the end well done!!!!!!!

Not as portable as it looks
It looks pretty portable when you see the picture. However it is not that small and ultra portable. I found consistent readings - good functions. It has very primitive PC software. You can set date from 2013 to 2040 (or something) which is ridiculous.

Unreliable Readings - Consistently Too High
Somewhat disappointing - this machine overstates BP levels.I purchased this unit because of its technology update allowing the user to transfer historical data in chart form to your PC for monitoring purposes.Ufortunately as the readings are significantly higher than actual eg it consistently reads circa 20mm/Hg higher on the systolic pressure and up to 10mm/Hg higher on the diastolic reading. These differences are quite significant considering they were obtained by using another Omron Machine - their own M5-1 Intellisense model.Gone back to using the M5-1 its very reliable - Quite worrying really for a Company of this stature not to recognise the issue and recalled them for modification.Whilst build quality is excellent it I really cannot recommend this machine as it clearly is not suitable for the purpose it was intended for.Could this be the reason that this model withdrawn from the market and is no longer advertised on their website??Would be nice if Omron recognised the problem and made matters right - wishful thinking!!.

Stored readings intended for a single user only.
Arrived OK but was disappointed to find upon reading the manual that the stored readings were only intended for a single person. A second (Guest) person can use the device but those readings are not stored. The upshot of this is that it would be impossible to differentiate between two people's data after uploading to a PC... what were the designer's thinking of! It would have been relatively simple to add a facility (in the software) to identify "User1" and "User2" for instance. I already have an older Omron pulse reader (bought it from Boots years ago) but this has no upload facility. Myself and my wife have shared that unit over the years and have had to manually record the data readings on scraps of paper. With the upload facility, I saw this new device as a step forward but assumed (incorrectly) that I would be able to keep the two sets of readings separate. Sadly this is not possible with this model and I have returned the item for a refund. So back to the drawing board ... I will do some more research and see if there is a more suitable device to record and keep the different user readings separate.
